I'm sure it would work. what is your use scenario? Home defense? Any good quality auto or pump does the job in that scenario. You can pick up good used hardware under $300 if you look.

I don't have any experience with it but it seems to have good reviews. I did buy my wife an Escort "Muddy Girl" 20ga semi years ago and it's a really nice inexpensive gun. She has put a couple hundred rounds through it and it has operated flawlessly every time.
i've always heard good things about the Mossberg,if I got a shotgun it would be that.

Yeah I keep a regular old Remington 870 loaded with #4 buckshot by my desk at work. If I can't kill the mother er with 5 shots from that bad boy I am throwing the gun down and running.
