It's still early, but yeah it looks like 5-8 are going to be in the mid to upper 40s this year.
Seriously.... the middle of the pack is scraping for 50 win paces... theres 2 great teams, 1 good team, and a bunch of mediocre teams.
1st round of West may not be so entertaining this year.
Dallas, Houston, Memphis, LAC don't even look like they'll win 50 games.

A few years ago when the Lakers won in 2009 and 2010, that was some weak compe ion out west. It's comparable and honestly if it weren't for the Rockets along with other teams being such es, the West would look more compe ive.
Mavs, Rockets, Clips will win at least 50.
-Mavs: Parsons/Matthews/Javale are still rehabbing
-Rockets: Harden has been playing himself into shape, Dwight recently got cleared for B2Bs & D-Mo just returned into action
-Clips: Paul had a finger injury early in the season which has now healed & their wing play can only get better![]()
That's how it looks right now, I agree, but the injury bug can change a lot of fortunes.
this, too
Let's face it,,,it's a league/NBA. There is one team you can count on. 1. Just 1. And it ain't State. Sure, they're champions, but, I wouldn't count on them to go on down to the lake and repeat any further than I can throw 'em.
The Western Conference had a few bad years in the 80s.
