Never have I seen very little support for a team playing historic defense. Every Game staduim has always noticable empty seats. Spurs fans like to boast about TD yet he is seating on 120k post over 700k post.

I bet you majority of those votes are from Argentina, France and other countries overseas.

Spurs fan logic "Timmy doesnt care about these ". Real reason "im tol fat, cant move".

But future players do and as future players see how poorly supported the spurs are from the community eventually no player would want to play in San Anotnio. Will probably collapsd once Kawhi retires.

I bag on SA a lot, but they're far from the worst. They're a mediocre city for sports, lots of fat lard beer chugging frijoleros to root for their team and they're loyal enough. I would say Atlanta, San Diego and Phoenix are the lowest of the low. SA is like somewhere in the middle, nothing to be proud about but nothing to really be ashamed about either.

How many 65+ win teams had noticable empty seats every game? I was told the tickets were sold but people would rather watch the game at the staduim bar so they can stuff their mouths with fatty burgers and burritos

There's a lot of reasons people don't up show to the games. SA is a majority working class city, so poorer people have no time to always go to the games. The richers show up only on important games and the playoffs. AT&T center is in a ty location. More people would show up if it was downtown. People prefer to watch the games at home because SA traffic gets Austin bad from 4-6 pm almost every day. Spurs fans are spoiled as we have won lots of championships. I've gotten tickets for free but sometimes don't go cause I'm in tired working 12 hrs a day. Just want to go home, take a shower, eat, smoke a few bowls and watch game, then go to sleep.

I think we should share some home games with Austin and rename them the SA/Austin Spurs. It would be in badass celebrating in sixth street after wining a playoff series and a championship.

As usual, OP has invented a myth that has little to do with reality... Of the 11 games tonight, 8 have more available tickets than the Spurs. And that's against Minnesota, a team with minimum drawing power.

The Spurs have sold out many home games for years. Just bc there are isn't an ass in the seat doesn't mean that the seat isn't paid for. It usually is, the person just didn't show up for the game for whatever reason. The Spurs are doing just fine with.fan support and currently rank #12 in overall attendance for the 2015-2016 season, ahead of teams like OKC, Celtics, Rockets, etc.

This x1000. it's probably in the absolute worst area of SA. Disagree about the traffic though. Yeah, it gets bad during that time but Austin is ALWAYS bad all day long

Its alright. San Antonio's success is always a blessing no matter the attendance. The attendance is also probably low because fans are too confident in the team. I mean..how long has it been since the Spurs were on a 5 to 7 game losing streak. Think about it? Success for this long...and reaching the claiming the le more than five times, the fans..are satisfied.

That really has alot to do with it. I usually go to 5-7 regular season games a year and try to go to as many playoff games as possible. The regular season games just don't have the same excitement.
The ATT center is rocking during playoff games though. Went to game 6 against the Clippers last year(awful) and in 2014 went to Dallas game 7, 2 games against Portland, and two games against OKC. Playoff game atmosphere is just on another level.

The thread's "legit". Though, it shows what everyone's been saying about this guy not even being a Spurs fan.

I'm from SoCal, so I can't comment on the behavior of Spurs fans who live in the city, but the fans there seem very passionate for the Spurs, and even better, they don't chimp out after a le win.

Los Angeles is by far the worst sports city in the country. Stabbings in parking lots, rioting AFTER le wins, and fairweather attendance/devotion.

Some will cite the good attendance numbers of the Dodgers, Lakers, etc as "proof" LA is a great sports town. But I can tell you a good amount of those "fans" are transplants from Bum , Somewhere, who go to sporting events like people go to the movies. Just for something to do on a night out.

Why would a franchise that has been around for almost 50 years collapse because of a single player?
