I love Pop . Can't imagine an NBA or the Spurs without him.
What will be do when he retires? What are his hobbies? I don't know much about the guy other than he likes wine and basketball. Does he even live in San antonio during the offseason. I imagine him living in some small moutain town in a mansion .
Durook?
Wesrant?
Russvin?
Kevell?
Durbrook?
Kawhi has bigger things in sight like a Finals MVP trophy & a championship ring, let the peasants eat in the regular season.
Congrats to Pop and the Spurs!!!!!
and yet that seems too low
how is that low? he is 4 ahead of Phil/Riley in COM..he has 3 COY awards, tied for most with Don Nelson/Riley..he is tied for most 50-win season with both Riley/Phil with 17..he has 4 60-win seasons, second after Riley/PJ who have 7, and Pop would have a couple of more if he didn't have a penchant for punting games for rest purposes...
IMO, if Pop wins 6th ring, he is easily the second best/most decorated coach in NBA history (i don't consider Auerbach 9 rings competing against nobodies teams in 1960s as that legit)..And considering he has done it in different eras with different styles with less than the stacked teams Jackson had at his disposal, Pop has his own case for GOAT coach..
16 COTM awards out of about 19 years of coaching? I realize they probably like to spread the award around. But for a team that's been the winningest franchise in sports, it seem like he'd have more than 16. Out of 108 months.
Anyway, my post was mostly a sarcastic, "16???? Is that all?"
I guess this cant be won in back to back months?
Otherwise, I couldn't come up with an excuse to not give it to Luke, again.
Luke doesn't coach worth . The players and last year set it up for him already.
Pop,
Pop on winning Coach of the Month: "I think you should at least get a car. If you don't get a car, I don't give a damn."
