I have been keeping track for the last 2 weeks or so and I've been saying, if the spurs win 9 straight , they will hit the 70 win pace. Now it's just 1 more game, of course, against Cleveland. Can they win 70?

    They hit 70 win pace last night. 82 x .85 =69.7

you dont play fractional games either. you can translate it as spurs get 70 wins in 3/4 of tries, 69 in the 1/4

The concept is fine. Misspelled, poor grammar OPs are lame though.

An entire word is missing. That's a bigger issue than spelling.

And if the NBA played tenths of games, that would matter.

The Spurs for sure won't, but it feels like the Warriors would have to really go through a bad stretch not to be three games better than they were last year.

I don't think the Spurs will hit 70 but it seems like the Warriors will reach it as long as Curry doesn't miss a stretch of games.

They'll start resting players before the regular season ends. The Warriors sure will do, eventually the Spurs will do so as well. The two teams are so far off the next cluster of playoff teams they can afford to rest.

But I think their stars will play final games of the regular season though. The Warriors and the Spurs face off twice in three days before they finish their regular season; that could be important for WC playoff seeding. Now that, you suit up for...

Unless the seeding are in play Pop is going to rest a couple of starters during the final week but considering they will be playing head-to-head w/ GSW/OKC/Mavs that probably won't be happening.

Could be, yeah. If it's determined by the time they play the Warriors in April, he would surely sit out. But if the #1 seed in the West was still up for grabs by that time, as a self-respecting coach, I don't think he will sit out his top guns with the top seed on the line against the Warriors.

Tougher schedule upcoming + Pop resting guys down the stretch = won't sniff 70 games. And that's okay.

It would be awesome if the Spurs could cost the warriors a 70 win season. I would love to see that!!!

They won 62 in 2013-14 despite conceding the final 2 games of the season. I see this squad winning 5 or 6 more games so about 68 sounds right (the 2014-15 Warriors were also 34-6 after 40 game just like the current Spurs but I'll give the current Spurs one more win).

    I'll bite.

    1) They're technically already on a 70-win pace, winning at an 85% clip, even before hitting the precise halfway point of 35-6.
    2) No, they won't win 70. Their best chance at doing so is to chase Golden State for the No. 1 seed, which we all know Pop wouldn't allow. Furthermore, even if they did want to go after 70, their schedule just isn't favorable enough going forward. You're talking about only losing six more games all season, when they still have to play GSW four times, Cleveland twice, Houston twice, Dallas three times, OKC twice, and the Clippers twice. The final week of the season has them playing @GSW, @Denver the following night, then against GSW again two nights after that, then against OKC on the second night of a back to back after that, and then on the road against the Mavs in the season finale. It's entirely possible that they have the No. 2 seed locked up by then, while the likes of Dallas and OKC are jockeying for playoff positioning.

I'm not gonna make predictions for every game for the rest of the season, but best case scenario I think this team wins 65, maybe 66 games.

Times have changed since 1996 anyway. The Bulls were far ahead of anyone else for the number 1 seed obviously, yet Jordan played all 82 games, Pippen played 77, they didn't seem to care as much about resting players back then. The Spurs and Warriors are on a crazy pace but 72-10 may not be touched for that very reason and they'll sit players so they are fresh for the Western Conference playoff landmine. Some of our guys have already had multiple games off for rest. I don't think teams give a about 70 these days.

You can guarantee Pop would rest our main guys if we were 69-8 and he wouldn't give a about 70 or getting the record

    Pop doesn't care.

Look at the schedule from 12 Mar on. Brutal. Pop is sure NOT to try to win out.
