Well, the 14 Spurs had a hand in it as well.
It's the exact same thing as what happened in 1991 with Michael Jordan.
"Wow! That player can sure score out of isolation! Maybe we should run isolation offenses more often!"
"But coach, we don't have any players that can score in isolation."
"That's really not the point. We have to do what won a le!"
OP and lefty are on to something...
Just saw the weakest flagrant foul call on Zaza Pachulia tonight.
Leagues usually have these teams with high win numbers during weak years. It's just that the disparity is so large that a couple of good teams would feast on the weaker ones to pad the win totals. It usually signify a weak league overall.
The year the lakers won 69 games, the Blazers cavs and braves were horrible. Almost 20% of the leagues teams won less than 25 games.
The year the 6ers won 68 games, seven of the nine teams had a winning % worse than .500
The Bulls 72 win season came right after expansion. And now there are TWO teams on pace to win 70 ( I think neither will) and it's a reflection of how bad the league is. Teams like the 6ers, lakers wolves nets and now Suns are an embarrassment and that's a large number of really bad teams.
