Trash talk is part of the game of football, but New England Patriots’ star Rob Gronkowski might have gone too far when dissing the Denver Broncos. Ahead of their Jan. 24 AFC championship game, Rob threw some pretty crude shade towards his opponents.

Rob Gronkowski, 26, knows that to win a Super Bowl, you have to get into your opponent’s head. But the New England Patriots’ tight end got pretty gross when he blasted his AFC Champions opponents, the Denver Broncos. Does Gronk now owe someone an apology? Gronk was chatting with the Pats Nation on Jan. 19, ahead of the Jan. 24 game. One Pats fan said she “heard the [Broncos] are gunna hit Rob Gronkowski in the knees to bring him down, Patriots be careful. Don’t wanna see him hurt again!” While Rob seemed to appreciate the concern, his response about the Broncos wasn’t so heartwarming: “Heard their whole team is good at giving low blows.”
Uh, yeah. Gronk’s quasi- phobic insult aside, he has some legit beef with Denver over its defensive strategy. When the Pats faced off against Denver on Nov. 29, Rob had to be carted off the field after defender Darian Stewart — surprise, surprise — hit him low. Gronk’s right knee whipped to the back and the right after colliding with Darian. While this wasn’t an initial thought to be a dirty hit, Gronk might be on his guard going into the division championship game.
Denver CB Chris Harris Jr. confirmed that the Broncos are targeting Gronk’s legs, reports Deadspin. When asked how he plans on taking down Gronk, who is bigger and stronger than the average NFL player, Chris said “You gotta hit him low — hit him in the knees.” No wonder Gronk was so crude when trashing Denver.

Stupid California lib s protecting the gots Not a Patriots fan but I support Gronk here. The Denver defense, apart from maybe the defensive line, is collectively very dirty. That's worse "cheating" than what the Patriots did, imho.

The hit on Gronk in the snow game at Denver was "dirty"?
    STFU. Perfectly clean hit.

Post vids of the alleged numerous other Bronco illegal hits.

And going for the knees -cleanly- is fine.
Not like ex Patriots dirtbag Rodney Harrisons cheapshots

This has been going on since day one at all levels of footbal, it's what guys do, no big deal of any kind.

, I'd get up after being clobbered...."come on man, that's it?" That was HS ball. Guys stepping on your hands, sticking fingers in your eyes.

    It's football.

Both teams are full of unlikeable cheating gots. The Panthers are gots too, BTW. I hope the Cardinals win it all even though it's probably not going to happen.

Meh, it's impossible to take down Gronk without going at his knees, tbh..Harris was stupid for publicly stating it, but everybody knows that's the case

He's the most unstoppable force in league history outside of Rice and Moss, tbh..

John Riggins. Try getting head butted by him.
    Walter Payton
    Barry Sanders
    on and on.

    Grunkowski in top 50 perhaps.

gronk is right, they go to his knees because they are too weak. and that's fine but don't tell me it's not dirty, it's dirty by definition.

NFL rules do not allow tackling at the knees?
    The f out.

Tom Brady doesn't believe low hit on Rob Gronkowski was dirty

"I hate to see it, but it really is the only way defenders can hit now," Brady said, via WEEI. "I bet if you asked the players, they would really rather go high than low. I don't think it's dirty. I just think that is how football is played now."

None of those guys are unique, though, physically..

There's nobody in league history with the size and speed to cover Gronk..Brady is great and all, maybe the GOAT, but his post-prime career has been heavily dependent on Gronk..

Riggins was very unique, he was Kansas100 yard champ at 9.8. The fastest big white back ever.

Mel Blount could cover Gronk, he was a 210 pounder with far more speed than Gronk.

John Mackey is the best TE we have seen vs the compe ion at the time.

    Mackey....15.8 yards a rec, Gronk....14.6.

Mackey had a slew of over 50 yards TD's, far more than Gronk.

There is a reason the best NCAA TE award is called....The John Mackey Award.

true. in fairness though, the pats have been unique in their unwillingness to draft wide receivers or running backs high in the draft.

Score some footage of John Riggins.
I think he must have headbutted mountain rams for fun in the offseason.
As Avante posted, very fast also.

Regardless, Pattycakes with Gronk >>>>>>without Gronk.
Edleman also to a lesser extent.

Altho Edlemans catches are often simply better brain work between he and Brady vs any physical prowesses. See last years Super Bowl, especially his push off then timing throw vs Seattle db for the short t.d. catch.

Let's see your score prediction in the game thread. Unless you already posted alt.

I don't have any alts, at the moment..

I'm a Broncos fan, obviously, but I think New England will win fairly easily..
