Nope. Kobe is the anti-Spur. Want no part of helping Kobe get another ring.
Would you want Kobe on the 2016-2017 Spurs?

He wouldn't be interested and even if he was interested in being a Spur I doubt he'd be satisfied with a Rasual Butler type role.
+1 trillion
kobe! What kind of question is this?![]()
I would say yes, if this was 5-6 years ago since PATFO has precedence of pulling in veterans who have been our sworn enemy and played key roles as bench players.
The reality is Kobe doesn't seem to have this kind of selflessness in the fabric of his character. He would also have had to pull the ultimate "Riches to Rags" move that would make David West's choice look insignificant since the Lakers would still pay him MAX to play in a wheelchair. He would also be ok with not starting. He just wouldn't do it.
Today, he just doesn't bring an upgrade to any spot except if we needed an obligatory NBA rapist.
I bet we could find an above-replacement-level NBA rapist if it were obligatory.
You are probably right, I am sure even while raping, Kobe spent most of his time bricking it
Would rather have Gary Neal than Kobe.
Come on, BillMc, he's not THAT bad. A crippled 40 year old Kobe would still be able to defend a shoeless player.
You've got a good point. But Gary still fits in better with team culture than Kobme.
plus rasual butler is a better player.
yes. I'd love to have him sit on the end of the bench and never play to be our human victory cigar a la Tracy McGrady
Something about seeing the word rapist while glancing at your avatar pic....hmmm.
yes!
What's better than owning his arse.
Just let him do the Rookie stuff for the Rookies and send him to the D-League from time to time. He may even play some garbage time in blowout losses (if there are any) just to taint his overall record...then cut him right before the playoffs just to make sure he doesn't count as a champ later on.
Wtf? I posted a similar thread a couple of months ago and got drilled. This guy is getting away without a scratch
Never
Watch him...he's got nothing left.
He'd be ahead of Kyle Anderson, tbh (at least initially).
I'm really trying to think of a way to write up a heartfelt pe ion to get Kobe to come back to the Lakers for another year just because watching him completely that franchise into the lottery year after year while they blindly cheer his every horse-caliber jumper makes me unbearably happy.
