I think Anderson was butt hurt he was not going off on the Spurs like the last meeting.

Also, he clearly saw where Manu was before he swung his head around and launched.
2:26 left in the game and down 11 points. Obvious charging call too.

Only God (Or the Great Dustspect if you an Evo) can say for a fact whether he intended to injure.
I'm certainly not saying he knew this would be the outcome.
But I think he reacted to being butthurt by intentionally narding Manu.

Damn, it really takes a special kind of low to desecrate something as legendary as Manu Ginobili's balls.

If it was intentional it was a ty move,it could have been life - altering and more than just an (painful as ) injury

Of course it was. He threw it knowing very well that Manu WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Bush league move at its finest. Reminded of this move. The league needs to revisit players throwing their knees out like the same as throwing an elbow. Should be a flagrant and automatic ejection. Go to replay to determine if the contact was excessive. Actually it hurts far worse to get kneed in the thigh or other areas than to get elbowed in the face.

To clarify, I don't think he intended to smash his testicle and maim him, but he did mean to "nut" him. It was not a natural basketball move to bring the knee up that high.

I agree he didn't mean to him him directly in the nuts, but a bruised bone on the thigh take about 3-4 weeks to heal as well. He meant to him hit him with that knee.

Duncan has been out for nearly 3-4 weeks due to a bruised bone in the knee. I haven't had one in awhile but they hurt like .

    I can't tell..

On one hand, he made a motion to shoot.
On the other, he could've tried a hook or some other move off the bump instead of taking a shot like that.

I hope it wasn't intentional, with a game basically over.
He could get in Wade's club of un(intentional) injuries.

You guys really believe in that split second he intended to do that tbh?
I can barely tell how Manu even got hit during a replay. Hope Monobili has a fast recovery

I used to play against a guy that used to do this exact same thing. It became a natural move to him, throwing his knee out as he was going up. It gave him extra room to get his shot off and was effective for him...but it was dangerous, especially when he had a full head of steam. It is much like swinging your elbows around to create space...you can really hurt someone doing it. I think it is illegal to throw elbows to create space now...not sure tho.

I haven't seen many guys use that technique, tho if you look at Dirk, he does that on fade-aways. Which isn't so bad since he's moving backward, not forward, but still there is potential for injury when defender is playing close. Anderson's move is not common right now...but, if it looks effective to others, it might become moreso. Turn around and throw your knee into the defender instead of your elbows. It should be analyzed closer by the league and a rule should be made to make this a flagrant...just like throwing an elbow. Especially when attacking. Not so much against the way Dirk uses it on fadeaways, losta guys do the same thing. Back on one leg, fading away, knee up. But, the way Anderson uses it, when making moves towards the basket? Not much different than throwing a punch to the defender...just with your knees instead of your fists or elbows.

    Yes he was.

They were losing, he was frustrated and Manu irritated him guarding him hard. That was a frustration Bynum/Artest style bush league move.
Prior to the Sagat knee, he threw multiples headbutts that miraculously didn't catch Manu's Toucanish nose.

Go watch the replay. That was a frustration foul and a dirty play. RA was getting shutdown all game by Diaw and KA. Either scored but both were on RA like white on rice. First he pushes off on Manu (foul); he PLOWS his shoulder into Manu (foul); turns and throws his knee up (foul).

Don't tell me he didn't intend to be overly physical on that play. He knew he hit Manu in the groin and he walked away like nothing. If I was Manu teammate, the next game I would want to setup a pnr where I got one-on-one and I would just run right over him. No .

Durant and Kobe do this for a living tbh.

And Manu has done it plenty of times as well.

There is one thing in sticking your leg/knee out when you're DRIVING to the basket. It's another when you are plowing over a guy in the post and you knock him off balance, he is only 1' in front of you and you go up with your knee. Dude, I haven't someone do this in the NBA in a long time.

It was dirty and it was cheap.

So u dont t think driving to the basket at full speed knowing someone is there waiting for you could cause similar injury? Come on now.

It can. BUT YOU SEE IT COMING. I have played against guys who have done that. I counter by throw out my knee when I go up to contest. People get the picture really quick NOT to throw their knees when there driving to the basket on me.

, I have NEVER played with someone that threw their knee out WHILE IN THE POST. I have had defenders do that to me. I had a lighting fast first step so guys use to throw their knee out to stop me. But never had I been defending someone in the post and they threw their knee out like that. That is as low as you can go, no pun intended.

Exactly. An intentional move which Ryan Anderson has done before.
