We need Broncos-like D-- the stifling version we played in november-- to have chance against the Worriers..

Broncos like D is dead in the NBA. Closest is the Grizzlies but they've been pretty inconsistent this season.

The Grizzlies D paled in comparison to what the Spurs have done this year based on the numbers. Best DRtg since they outlawed handchecking. Pretty good comparison actually.

Difference is the Spurs are also an upper echelon offense, while the Broncos were a middling one at best (25th by DVOA indicates they were pretty bad).

And I can't believe you put Ray Lewis in a list with those other guys.

I think they can do it but they need everybody healthy to play that type of D in the playoffs. It all hinges on Tim's health come playoff time. He's the defensive anchor of the team.

Huh? Not a quarterback, but a heck of a player, one of the best ILB's ever, and a classy individual off the field. Retired on top in super bowl 2013

Yes, and ¨Why¨ we need him to retire on top? there is no disgrace in a guy that gave us 5 rings, he can do whatever he wants the NFL.

I liked him too. But he kind of did kill somebody.

(I know he got off. So did OJ and Casey Anthony, among others)

No, he didn't perform the killing. Guilty by association is flawed logic.

Difference is, OJ actually killed his wife and her sancho and Casey Anthony did poison her little girl.

Guilty by association is called "accessory before/after the fact". Ray Lewis is a bad man, and should never be mentioned with those others.

Sour grapes from a guy who probably made up his mind without hear any details. Love him or hate him (or just find him annoying), Ray was a generational talent and a top-50 all-time player who called his shot and rode out in style. Dude led all players in post-season tackles despite playing with one arm. He did a least as much to win his last ring as Manning did. Absolutely deserves to be on the list.

There's a difference between him "getting off" because of some technicality and him having charges dropped because the only evidence/testimony presented by either side showed that Ray was trying to defuse the situation when the other guys attacked his friends and were stabbed.

Peyton manning was tosb laid off from the Colts and joined the Broncos Brett Favre style. No way I want Tim going ring chasing in the eastern conference. Tim Duncan is rated higher in his sport than anyone else you listed. He doesn't need any mythology. David "no les without Duncan" needed some myth. Peyton "Brady is my daddy" manning needed some mythology.

6 is nice, but hardly necessary. Just no injury. I want him to retire with the knees still attached..

We need to let Tim retire after back to back les getting him to 7, passing Jordan and smashing the myth of the inevitability of this Dubs run but only if that is what he wants, he might want to get that threepeat

Won't happen if GS is healthy. Spurs ceiling if they actually show up in the playoffs is the WCF.
