Dallas NewsWASHINGTON - Cindy Sheehan, the California woman who has used her son's death in Iraq to spur the anti-war movement, was arrested Monday while protesting outside the White House.
Sheehan and several dozen other protesters sat down on the sidewalk after marching along the pedestrian walkway on Pennsylvania Avenue. Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests.
Sheehan was the first taken into custody. She stood up and was led to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, "The whole world is watching."

Before we start getting into a free speech debate, let it be known that this is exactly what she wanted.
I am a Democrat but this Sheenan has got to go! Useless!
Sheenan will now call for the pull out of guards from the jail she is in.

I still don't believe in Bush's war,economics,and leadership. He has to be the worst Republican President in the "Communication Era".
Dan is allright but he's beating a dog when it's down,unfortunately for this administration it's been down for the last 5 years! Nothing seems to come out right for the Bush administration. For our sake I hope things start looking better the next 3 years of his Presidency.

Sheehan has no First Amendment issue here and if that's what dan is trying to get at, its a silly point. There is no doubt that the government can impose reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions on anyone's expression, so long as the limitation does not unreasonably chill the right to speak freely. Here, the government has a perfectly understandable interest in keeping people from loitering in front of the White House. The officers gave Sheehan three opportunities to take herself elsewhere. It doesn't appear that Sheehan was arrested for what she was saying; she was arrested for her refusal to leave the place where she was trying to express herself. Had she gone across the street or down the block, she wouldn't have been arrested.
Sheehan's cause was initially appealling to me because it seemed to be a genuine expression of sadness aimed at making a political point. But now, she's either turned herself into some kind of media , or been turned into a willing political pawn. In either event, the self-aggrandization of Cindy Sheehan has made her cause into a mockery.

She does not look like a grieving mother. Looks like she's just getting off on the attention. I am sure the people that killed her son enjoy all this crap.
EDIT: What I want to know is from her.. What exactly did her son tell her in there conversations about how HE felt about the war, Bush and military recruiters that "lied" to him.
What was his reason to re-enlist. In the class about close combat and getting wounded and killed in the basic training. He didn't quit and not reenlist because he know you get shot at and blown up in the Army?
What did he think Cindy? ...
