    Makes sense....

Ryan Faces Trial by Fire as Republican Convention Chairman

Paul Ryan didn’t know until after he became speaker of the House that it meant he’d also be chairing the Republican presidential nominating convention in July.

He also wasn’t aware that becoming chairman meant he might be walking into a firestorm.

The sharply divisive Republican primary contest means that, instead of a largely ceremonial role, Ryan is almost certainly going to end up with the unenviable job of trying to piece back together a shattered Republican Party.

Whether that task will mean trying to unite a splintered party behind an unpredictable outsider, Donald Trump, or brokering a contested convention where Republicans slug it out over possible alternatives, Ryan will likely be on the hot seat. And everyone will be watching to see whether he is trying to tilt the outcome.

The stakes could hardly be higher, both for the party and Ryan personally. So far, the Wisconsin Republican has cultivated a reputation for leadership as speaker without doing much actual leading outside the ranks of loyalists in the U.S. House.

Paul Ryan facing primary challenge from wealthy businessman who feels ‘betrayed’ by House speaker

A wealthy businessman with tea party ties confirmed Sunday that he is mounting a primary challenge to House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, saying that after donating to the Wisconsin Republican's past campaigns he feels "betrayed" by the speaker on trade deals and immigration.

The businessman, who is not yet revealing his iden y, promised that his run will "shake up the establishment in a profound way,"

The emergence of a viable Republican challenger in Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District is the culmination of a monthslong recruitment effort by tea party activists who say they were double-crossed by Mr. Ryan when he passed a $2 trillion spending package late last year.

Eric Odom, a conservative activist and political consultant in Wisconsin, confirmed with "100 percent certainty" that a local business leader would be running to oust Mr. Ryan.

Even sociopathic, VRWC/1%/BigCorp like Paul Ryan, with his bull "asterisk/magic" budgets that enrich the wealthy and screw everybody else, isn't "pure" enough for the extremists.

"polarization as asymmetrical, with the Republican Party — in particular its most hard-line faction — as deserving of far more of the blame for the breakdown in governing.

The Republican Party remains a party of protest. It continues to struggle to demonstrate that, on the national level, it can be a true governing party."

Trump supporters are as stupid, ignorant as their support of Trump proves, by thinking that Trump gives a about them (see his extremely pro-wealthy tax plan), will be able help them in any way, and/or solve problems caused exclusively by Repug strict obstructionists.

Just another BIG LIE by rightwingnuts is that the Dems and Repugs are essentially the same, but the ASYMMETRICAL polarization coming from the Repugs going back to Gingrich's bull extemist tactics (shutdown the govt) is exclusively from the Repugs, not the Dems.
