A good friend of mine was a track guy that went to Tech on a track scholarship in the late 80's. He did that, his name was Chris Davis. He was a 400 meter guy. He took 20 bucks from because he bet us that he couldn't jump on top of our JV football stalls the top of which stood over 5 feet high. Well that dude did it. Here is the thing. Chris was about 5'9 white guy weighed about 140 soak and wet. looked more like a science nerd than a track star. Still one of the fastest kids I knew ran about a 46 400 meters.
I remember him running the anchor of the Tech 4x400 meter relay against Michael Johnson of Baylor. Michael was about 6'5 and Chris was 5'9 looked funny watching them stand there.
