So Dan, are you mocking sexuals, or people who associate with them?
RawstoryAP is reporting that Rep. David Dreier (R-CA) is expected to at least temporarily succeed House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) as majority leader, following DeLay's indictment.
RAW STORY revealed Dreier was gay and lived with his chief of staff last year. LA Weekly then outed him, and he promptly disappeared from the television news show circuit. Our story, which originally ran Sept. 20, 2004, follows in full.
-----
A Republican congressman from California who has repeatedly voted against gay rights measures is said to be gay himself, and at least three MediaNews Group newspapers are said to have instructed its reporters not to ask questions about the congressman's sexuality or how it relates to public policy.
--
Brad Smith, Dreier’s chief of staff with whom he is said to have lived, is paid an unusually high salary relative to the chief of staffs of other powerful congressmen, including Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert.
After RAW STORY ran an article suggesting that Congressman David Dreier, R-CA, might be gay, Hustler Magazine revealed that they planned a major expose exploring the conflict between the congressman’s sexuality and his positions on gay rights.
Michael Rogers, the gay activist who outed Dreier Thursday on his site, blogACTIVE, said he “was especially interested in talking with Brad Smith about his living arrangements with the Congressman here in DC."
Hummm, Republicans really are the big umbrella party.
So Dan, are you mocking sexuals, or people who associate with them?
Nah, I just love pointing out Republican hypocrisy.
C'mon guys, what's not to like about a allegedly gay Republican from California that pays his alleged lover/chief of staff just $400 a year less than the president pays Karl Rove and Andrew Card?
This'll be fun until the next white girl disappears in the Caribbean.
Among bipartisan polls of congressional aid staff, Dreier is consistently ranked as the best dressed member of the House of Representatives.

Wrong Dan, you are just a liberal. Quick to point to a person's skin color, sexual orintation or place of origin. And then tell us how we are racist, etc. You are so damn predictable. Stuck on stupid.
What is the hypocrisy? Do republicans believe it's illegal to be gay? Are they pushing for that? I'd find it funny if the guy was pro cons utional amendment against sexual marriages, but is he?
I'm writing protest letters right now!!
Being gay is totally un-republican and un-conservative!!!![]()
User,
I believe he voted against the one man/one woman marriage amendment.
Or Uncle Betty...![]()
REALLY???? And the republicans let him live?! OMGOSH!
They only let him live if he promises to keep his " Eye for the phobe" consultations on the down-low.
That Kohl guy from Arizona is a gay Republican, right?
"I thought I was the best dressed!"

More Democrats (36, 17.5%) were in favor of the Federal Marriage Act than Republicans (27, 11.8%) that opposed it, believe it or not.
"it's illegal to be gay"
The Repub's Bible-thumping nut-case/ID/creationism base is categorically against /lesbo, "it is written" in the Bible. You can be sure they are burning up the fax/telephone/mail channels today extorting the Repubs to ditch this " sinner" by nightfall, or else.
shrub is ed
Repubs are ed
3 more years!!

Okay, that's ing disturbing.![]()
You know that is derogatory slang for gay people, right? I mean, you wouldn't use those in a post calling someone else prejudice against sexuals, would you?
Actually, I bet there's some sort of battle plan in place regarding Dreier taking over a national position like Majority Leader since Hastert and the guys in the WH have doubtlessly investigated him after all the gay allegations.
Remember, these are the same folks that brought us a black Sec-State (two, actually) and a Hispanic Attorney General, both firsts for each office and from largely Democratic ethnicities. Throw in a gay Congressional leader, and all you need now is a Asian Supreme Court appointee to complete the GOP image makeover, or the umbrella party someone alluded to earlier.
It wouldn't surprise me.
/lesbo is not derogatory. you going P.C nit-picking?
home, lesbo are just nicknames for sexual and lesbian, nothing more, nothing less.
Perhaps in YOUR mouth, they are derogatory, but not in mine.
You think all republicans or conservatives are alike. That is what is truly funny about you. There are sexuals who are republicans, and according to whatever wacky ideals you think ALL republicans follow, pretty much fit them too. Somewhere out there is a gay soldier making a silent prayer at a Bush fundraiser that a republican is elected in 2008. I say, big deal.
Every word in boutons mouth is dirty.![]()
Considering what usually comes out in your posts, I would imagine those are pretty tame to you.
I wasn't knit-picking (okay, I sorta was) but I just thought it was ironic because I've never heard those words used when someone wasn't being nasty....and I love irony. But, whatever.![]()
