Looks like there's a great chance we end up playing Memphis. That's good.

We are playing the grizzlies for sure. They won't beat the warriors at the oracle in the last game of the season when GS is trying to beat Chicago record. Plus they need Dallas to lose to a likely shorthanded spurs team. Virtually impossible.

The Grizzlies are a good team for the first round. They are injury ridden, no Gasol, no Conley, and they don't have an outside threat, so Kawhi can focus all his energies on the offensive side. 4-0.

Spurs lucky this time! First round should be good practice.

Hope the Mavs beat the Thunder so its an easier 2nd round!

Best scenario is Rockets beat the Dubs making it an easy WCF for the Spurs.

Good thing is that the Spurs can choose to play Memphis if they want to.

Dallas has the tie breaker with Memphis so only way Spurs don't get Memphis is if Spurs lose to Dallas and Memphis amazingly beats the Dubs at home which isn't gonna happen.

Other way. The Spurs have to beat Dallas while the Grizz take out GS for SA to not play Memphis.

Spurs-Grizz is a virtual lock, tbh..Grizzlies are 17.5 underdogs vs. the Warriors, they aren't winning that game when Golden State is trying to win #73..

Looks like it's going to be:

    Warriors-Rockets
    Spurs-Grizz
    Thunder-Mavs
    Clippers-Blazers

Pretty nice draw for the Spurs, all things considered..complete opposite of last year

Spurs are one GSW injury away from making it to the finals!!! One Horry hip-check special is all that is needed!

Weird how 3 of the 4 pairings are recent WCF matches. Warriors/Rockets last year, Spurs/Grizz in 2013, Thunder/Mavs in 2011. Only Clippers/Blazers doesn't have a huge amount of history.

Spurs are playing Memphis. Dallas beating the Jazz sealed it. That is why I wanted them to win. Grizz will lose tonight, so it doesn't matter if the Spurs win or lose, Memphis is going to get the 7th. Spurs get the easiest 1st round opponent out West.

And for those of you said, well, the Spurs beat Dallas win they won the le, yeah, they played the Blazers in the 2nd round and then played OKC. This year, it looks like the Spurs will have to beat OKC and GS. They need at least one easy series, so they can be rested for those dogfights.

As pointed out the Spurs actually get Memphis is they lose to Dallas, that's why I was saying they can choose to play Memphis as they can always chose to lose. And in this case I feel it would be stupid not to. The Lakers have beaten GSW and the Memphis-GSW game a few days go was decided by one point IIRC, so I have no faith in seeing other teams decide our playoffs scenarios.

Griz is a good thing for LaMarcus too. He seems to need to take care of that finger.
With the Griz he can focus more in getting healthier seems he won't be needed that much.

If Spurs got Grizz, Mavs and the Warriors got Rockets, Clippers; that would erase the memories of the Warriors charmed regular season.

You think Mavs can beat the Thunder? I mean, it wouldn't be the craziest thing ever but not likely at all IMO

Yes. Because Dirk might want one last hurrah and Durant/Westbrook are making other plans for the future. As well, OKC's system is not a system; it's Durant and Westbrook go win the game.

, I'm all for it. Maybe Wes Matthews can go Vince Carter from 3 pt land. He was a good 3pt shooter at Portland, haven't heard much from him this season. Maybe the achilles injury got to him.
