OKC is a dynasty?
This could be the last hurrah for OKC if the Spurs win this series you can count that Chuckbrook and Durant have seen their last days as Okies one of the two or both.
These two guys clearly have ego problems they are in the press confrences at the same time. Because they are attention s. its evident.....behind closed doors
Westbrook is the Western Conf. Carmelo Great Talent but uncoachable
Durant never acknowleges anything to the opposition even when he gets schooled by Kawhi....dude is not humble and alreday has a beef with the OKC media...when Chuckbrook gets all the love.
I love what our team decimated these Dynasties
2000 Shaq/Kobe Lakers
2005 Pistions
2014 Lebrons Heat
2016 Durant/Westbrook Thunder?
games two and three are crucial.....hope we win in five so we can prepare for the mother of all battles!
it was only one game ...
Not so much a dynasty I should have said tandem...of these too my bad....
Exactly.
It was one game re s. Post this when we up 3-0
Well was only one game but we did systematically pull apart Heat and cause that powerhouse to crash to earth like a death star and turn to e.
I think you mean 2003 Shaq/Kobe Lakers. As I recall, we didn't play them in the playoffs in 2000. In 2001 and 2002 they crushed us.
We were up 2-0 in 2012 and got Backdoor swept... on the verge would be if they were playing to get their 4th win and they wouldn't be dismantling a Dynasty, they may contribute to yet another franchise all time great player leave a team the Spurs defeat (if they do).
I think you need to win a championship to be considered a Dynasty.
For f's sake, it's only one game. Settle down.
Spurstalk sometimes reaches the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We haven't done anything yet in this series. Still lots of work to do. Gotta stay focused, stay hungry in every minute of every game. It's not easy.
Since this thread is mostly a fail...I want to bring up a point I heard in the nba forum. While it's cool we beat the Lakers and heat, two of the best historical teams of the era we only won after each had been to multiple finals trips and it could be argued that the spurs only beat those legendary dynasties because they were tired and ripe for ending.
Now obviously the spurs have been on the reverse end of being too tired to defend. And the spurs can only play the teams they are assigned Rio play. But is this a legit point or just your usual Lakers fan insecurity.
Ringless Dynasty
the "could have been" dynasty. After Harden's trade, they fell apart.
Not only that, but it was the Pistons, not Spurs who dismantled them.
And the Pistons remained formidable after the '05 finals, with three more ECF appearances (six in a row).
So that leaves the Spurs with just the Heat. Maybe you can count the Bulls too because the Spurs won the year after Jordan retired!
One of the worst trades ever. JH/KD/WB was a very tough team, all three could score in big bunches.
Well, this is sort of how it happens. The aging of good role players, or their loss, is a major factor. The Lakers were able to paper over things with Payton and Malone in 2004 but then Detroit hammered them. In 2008 the Spurs' role players couldn't hang anymore.
The team we're leaving out here are the Steve Nash Phoenix Suns, btw.
I'd have no problem is the Spurs dismantled the Thunder, decimated the Warriors, and obliterated the Lebrons.
Then Draymond lashed out to the media, Durant moved to the Wizards, Westbrook started dressing with potato bags (he's getting close anyway), Lebron left without shaking hands, and Love shaved his head.
10 years from now theres gonna be an ESPN 30for30: the dynasty that never was.
We are so losing Game 2.
Holy this was funny!! Potato bags?! ROFLMAO
I'd be more interested in toppling the team with the best record in NBA history. We are likely to get that chance...
