Yeah, he really went off. I didn't even see the foul until he mentioned it.
Lost in the buffoonery and brain dead closing moments of game 2 was the brilliant and raw taunting of "the miscall" from one Christopher J Webber.
We need to send our regard to him for having our back with that call.
I've never seen anyone, national commentator or other, put out something like that on a national broadcast, and him siding with the Spurs was pretty cool regardless of any bias (which I'm positive isn't the case no matter what okc fan will argue).
I thought I'd transcribe it because it's even more grand when it's laid out in print:
I got my Sac Kings C-Webb jersey order on standby. Great job man! That was an offensive foul on Ginobili.
That was an offensive foul by OKC on San Antonio.
Ginobili, the coaches, the team, everyone is upset.
That was an offensive foul!
A BLANTANT offensive foul!
It was an offensive foul.
And If I'm Ginobili, if I'm the Spurs, I am upset too.
If was there for everyone to view it, wide open.
That was an offensive foul.
The game is over and Coach Popovich is at the scoreboard table because it is an offensive foul.
Look at this - he's out of bounds.
You can't push somebody from out of bounds!
I've never seen that before.
But it was an offensive foul, it doesn't matter.
They're supposed to have the ball.
The rest of this play does not matter.
It was an offensive foul.
The rest of that five seconds does not matter.
Terrible!
Whether you're OKC fan, whether you're a San Antonio fan, I don't have a dog in this fight.
You just want guys to have the best chance to win.
You want it to be fair.
Yeah, he really went off. I didn't even see the foul until he mentioned it.
Better than that idiot Reggie Miller tbh
Always been a Chris Webber fan. One guy I wish could've played for the Spurs back in the day and won a ring with us.
Webber actually got ed by the refs so I understand it, but the Spurs can't blame anyone other than themselves tonight. They should have converted that last play. They weren't getting a better scoring opportunity than what they got. I'll take a live ball turnover over a dead ball turnover any day when I need a basket.
He's knows what calls are all about first hand. Glad he was calling the game and not reggie
Yeah Chris Webber knows what it is like playing for a small market team going against an NBA Money-Making Machine. His Kings got ed by the league/refs in 2002 Playoffs.
you could hear the pain in his voice from 2002, tbh..
Damn things never end well for Barksdale![]()
+1 OP. Was good to hear Webber have our back and so blatantly broadcasting his thoughts in SA's favour.

Ref's are admitting their mistake now.
Have him call every Spurs game, if ThunderNetworkTelevision fires him for preaching... Hire him and add him with Sean and Bill
You know Barnacle Boy Adam Silver is going to give TNT a call, tbh...
Van Gundy used to call out refs all the time, now he's a puppet.
Imagine Reggie Miller commentating
"That is a GREAT playoff non-call"
"Ginobili exaggerated the contact there"
Just glad it wasn't Hubie.
"I like what I'm seeing here. You gotta not let the guy push you. Great play."
CWebb having those 'nam style PTSD flashbacks to when Kirby elbowed Bibby in '02 tbh
Webber knows what it's like to be screwed by the refs and the NBA. He is calling it like it is for what it is. Truth.
Chris Webber is a bigger Spur than Steve Smith, Steve Kerr, and any other former Spur on TNT/DisnESPN
JVG actually called out the refs when Kawhi was being whistled for phantom offensive fouls & not getting any calls on the other end when the Spurs beat the Duds.
Bigger than Steve Kerr, the guy who hit four threes to seal a trip to the Finals for the Spurs? Sure son, whatever.
The NBA will not like his comments. Probably assign Reggie Miller for the rest of the series.shout out to Chris Webber ...
He almost signed w/ the Spurs before Admiral re-signed: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...-irks-Christie
