Uncharted - Amazing storytelling. 10/10 Pacing. Respectable multyplayer. Not a whole lot of weapon varieties. 9.5/10

Great games are great games regardless of genre
Same can be said of movies. But I don't go out of my way to watch Pixar films unless I'm taking my kids to the movies. If I'm going to spend my own time, I'm not going to watch/play something that was made primarily for kids.

anyway, as for Uncharted, I've heard nothing but good things but I've never played any in the series. Is it pretty much the male equivalent of Tomb Raider? and if I play 4 will I be lost without playing the previous 3?
The Nathan Drake collection is available for PS4 which includes all three games. If you can find it for a decent price, Uncharted 2 is worth it all by itself.
And Indiana Jones is a good example of how the games work. All the same characters carry over from one game to the next, but it's not necessary to really play one to understand the next. So no, you won't be lost if you decide to go right into Uncharted 4. But I'd still play the others first just because they are so fun.

Lol, dont play Uncharted 1. Its trash compared to newer games. Just play uncharted 2,3,4.
Then play 1 once you fall in love with the series and want more story.
Be warned though, both Rise of the Tomb Raider and the first ps3 tomb raider are better gameplay wise. Uncharted is all about story telling. The Gameplay has always been somewhat average. Maybe above average.
I like games like Ratchet and Klank for my Vita. Something that I can play for a short time and get to another level and not have to remember anything in case I don't play for a while.
The more epic games lose too much on the small screen.

Just finished Uncharted 4. Epic game. The only issues I had were the controls when trying to cover seemed annoying and the last sword fight and ending was kinda drawn out tbh but other than that it was a damn good game, worth the 12 bucks in total it cost to rent. 9.5/10. Now Naughty Dog can go work on Last of Us 2
