AOU wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for AOS

I mean yes it would have still happened , but Coulson is the one who locates the scepter in the AOS episode preceding the release of AOU

The theme of that season was Coulson chasing HYDRA and those running the experiments - in fact Dr List appeared in 2 epuisodes that season (the Dr we see at the end of TWS and early in AOU

Also, Coulson is the one who was keeping Fury's helicarrier functional

In the season that just ended, one of the baddies was one of the members of the World Security Council from Avengers 1

AoS is written around the movies, not the other way around. None of it is required to understand anything happening in the MCU... and honestly not worth sifting through all the drivel just to see some tie-ins.

Agents of Shield is just boring, tbh. I like some of the characters, but I always lose interest after a few eps. The with Ward and the alien just got old as and was going nowhere.
