I read that the Hornets are prioritizing Jeremy Lin, Courtney Lee, & Marvin Williams over big Al. Now obviously he's not the same talent he used to be, but in the David West role he would be perfect.
He's not an elite rim protector but he's a big body down low with a huge wingspan. I'd take him on the MLE. This of course assuming we whiff on Gasol. If he wanted more money than the mid level deal, I'd say pass. The guy is very injury prone and slow at this point, but I could see him giving a solid 8-10 ppg

He and Boban would be redundant, both are volume shooters. As the third of a FA triumvirate (Gasol and a guard being the first two, if Tim retires) at a low price, it could be alright.
But with so much cap room around the league and GMs being willing to overpay for raw PPG and name recognition, he'll get paid well above what the Spurs can afford on a 1- or 2-year deal.
