A concealed carrier is being credited with preventing further violence at a South Carolina nightclub.
Spartanburg County deputies say 32-year-old Jody Ray Thompson got into an argument outside Playoffz nightclub in Lyman early Sunday morning. He then opened fire into the nearby crowd, wounding three people.
A man fired back at Thompson in self-defense, striking him in the leg.
Deputies say the hero had a valid concealed weapons permit and will not be facing charges. None of the injuries were said to be life-threatening.
Thompson was charged with four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
The NRA chastised the media for not reporting on the incident.

Would a study of the accuracy/accidental shootings of CCW holders compared to police officers suffice?

It just proves to me I'm somewhere in between a reactionary and a radical.
And that's good for me.
And I must admit I don't hold internet grudges long. So paying attention usually just occurs when I find something strikingly wrong a number of times. Don't read your stuff all that much.
You know what you may be right. So many posters say so many derogatory things on this site towards me and each other I can't keep up. Between the aforementioned, and the "I really don't care"... well, it's just not gonna stick.

I guess we don't even need cops anymore right? If concealed carriers can effectively neutralize threats, as OP is implying, we don't need police anymore. That nightclub shooting in Orlando wouldn't have been nearly as catastrophic if Florida allowed people to carry concealed wea...oh, damn. I guess our dream of a public-police state is hopelessly dashed! Luckily TSA can still dream about a society where child molesters aren't imprisoned. Keep the dream alive TSA.
