You said "back up" but I think you meant "replace Parker in the starting lineup as the Spurs look to trade Parker for picks or slide him into a sixth-man role."
Anyone heard these rumors? Saw it on the twitter interwebz.
Si and some off the wall sports pages talking about it. Saying he is a good fit to back up TP and team up with Pau. What say u.

Overrated and can't shoot. His passing would be welcomed though. That said, it's not happening. He's due $42M over the next 3 years. No thanks.
Damn 42 mill and people think Parkers contract is bad.
Turnobili will be making the same amount as Rubio after he got assaulted by Dion Butters who just signed for a measly 3 mill.![]()
I'd rather have Parker, no thanks. Good passer, but has trouble scoring.
No disrespect to Rubio but he is injury prone......I say pass.....
It would cost the Spurs Green, I'll pass on that.
Rubio, Green, Leonard on positions 1,2 and 3 ... from a defensive standpoint I would like to see it
But from an offensive standpoint, Rubio will be standing around scratching his balls while other teams dare him to shoot.
It could cost the Spurs even Bonner or maybe their coffee machine, not worthy like this thread, tbh
The Suns should probably trade for him since neither Bledsoe or Knight are true PGs. Bledsoe can go back to be a 25 MPG backup & focus on being a beast on defense like he was on the Clippers.
He has only one more year on the contract.
I donīt like him and donīt think he is the option.
Considering our PG will be playing alongside Green, we need a scoring PG or at least one that has the tool, Rubio is not the answer.
If Spurs let De Colo go then why would they want Rubio?
That's a pretty big deal. Next summer, Parker will be on his last year meaning it won't be difficult to salary-dump him if the need arises. Dumping a contract with an extra year is much more difficult.
In a vacuum, Rubio is a better player than Parker right now. But it's death in "Today's NBA" to field a complete non-shooter on the perimeter.
Thought he signed a 4-yr extension with the Wolves back in 2014?
I think he meant that Rubio has one more season on his contract than Parker does.
