While youre drafting your fantasy football team this year, make a separate football team consisting only of Spurs, past and present.

    OFFENSE

QB Duncan (I wish there was a flashier pick for this spot, but he can probably stand in there and throw the long ball).
Backup QB: Brent Barry. Exciting passes but overall no real value

RB1: Parker. The guy can sure travel.
RB2: Manu. Would probably be our Barry Sanders

WR1: Charles "Spider Man" Smith. Just bc you need a Spider Man in your receiving core.
WR2: Derek Anderson. Makes for exciting midair collisions.
WR3: TJ Ford. See WR2 comment.

TE: Melissa Stewart, Spurs Silver Dancer
    TE2: Eva Longoria

O-Line: Boris Diaw, Malik Rose, Mario Elie, Tony Massenburg, Mark Bryant

    DEFENSE

    CB1: BatManu
    CB2: Bowen
    Free Safety: Danny Green
    Strong Safety: Coyote

LB: David West. Looks mean and probably hit a guy or two in his career
    LB: Steven Jackson

Nose Guard: In the words of John Madden, big ol' Boris Diaw
    Nose Guard: Pops Mensah-Bonsu

    Defensive End: Nazr Mohammed
    Defensive End: Francisco Elson

    INJURED RESERVE

    LaMarcus Aldridge: pinkie
    Tiago Splitter: vagicitis (contagious)
    Michael Jordan: flu like symptoms

    COACHING STAFF

    Head Coach: Gregg Popovich
    Offensive Coordinator: Jacque Vaughn
    Defensive Coordinator: Keith "Centerpiece" Bogans

    Strength and conditoning: Derek Fisher
    Equipment Manager: Matt Bonner

    OFFICIATING

    Crew Chief: Joey Crawford
    Referee: Tim Donaghy
    Referee: Stevie Wonder

Your list is dumb. If you're not going to take it seriously, then why even post.

Without researching to see if any Spurs played football and using names that most would recognize, I'll go with:

    QB : Charlie Ward
    RB1 : Antonio Daniels
    RB2: Simmons
    WR : Parker
    WR2: DA
    TE : Alvin Robertson

That was my original pick. Good size, could see the field. Seems to have a great arm.
But I gave it to the guy with the Heisman.

    Other possibilities:

    Swing Tackles: Terry mings, DBlair
    WR2 (possession wr): Sean Elliott
    WR3 (slot): TParker
    TE: LMA
    FB: Antoine "Big Dog" Carr
K: Vinny Del Negro (cause of the hair)
honorable mention K: Bowen (cause of "the kick")

You want to paralyze t.j. ford huh. He wouldnt make it through a quarter of action. He needs to be scratched from the list and replaced with kawhi. He needs to play both ways like old school days

And yes, manu should be qb and not tim. Tim is your blindside lineman

I thought about LMA for TE. But he's just too damn slow. If he could even get open, he's not doing anything after he catches the ball.

How are we supposed to take this thread seriously with those comments.

    Now...how about Udoka for LB?

    Disagree with the OP.

As I've said many times on here, Green is the CB and Kawhi is the safety of the team.

If you want the other team to run the "A" gap for 7 yards per carry, then sure.

This. Duncan is too tall and slow, even in his prime. And his Jay Cutler like passes are... well, like Jay Cutler.

Manu has the perfect size for a QB, great passer, great vision, and the elusiveness to get out of a sack and run for 5 or 10 or even 20 yards in traffic when plays break down.

Only thing is we'd need to get him to run out of bounds or slide as often as possible so he wouldn't get injured.

SJax would be our RDE, probably one of the best we could find. Mean and tough and like 2013 Greg Hardy. Put the tamer Sean Elliott on the other side and let them go to work. Malik Rose, Tony Massenburg etc are good backups at DE.

Realistically, anyone over 6'9" really wouldn't have a role, not even on special teams except for maybe kicking or punting.

Linebackers that are too tall are usually too slow in coverage and can't effectively dip down to make short area tackles. Gotta have guys 6'4" and under there.

Also, our best CB in the modern era was Cory Joseph and it isn't close. DG is a great NBA corner, but in the NFL he'd be relegated to nickel because of his height and tendency to commit dumb fouls.

    CB1 - Cory Joseph
    CB2 - Speedy Claxton

Claxton was a great defender for us in 2003, and he's just the right size to hang with the speedsters while CuJo takes the OBJ/Dez types of the league.

Plug prime Horry (beef him up first) or Glenn Robinson at 1-technique

Don't know if I'd want Diaw on the team. Maybe as a backup but just too soft.

Malik Rose or David West (my hate for him notwithstanding) would make a solid 3 tech for us... I'd prefer Dejuan Blair at RT or RG on offense because of his tendency to be forgetful on defense.

Strong safety probably best bet, and a Megatron-like receiver on offense as well. Pay him the highest salary in the NFL for being an iron man player, I don't care it'd be worth it.

I see Parker and Finley as pretty good other WRs for us, plus someone 6'0" and under who is fast (TJ Ford? Don't like NVE) to be our burner/slot receiver.
