OKLAHOMA CITY -- Hornets coach Byron Scott said it was his decision to ban backup forward George Lynch from training camp.
During Monday's Media Day, Lynch made a request to be traded because he wants to play for a contending team. Lynch is in the final year of his contract with the Hornets.
"I don't want those type of distractions in our locker room,'' Scott said after Wednesday's practice at Southern Nazarene University. "George has made it clear that he wants to be traded, and we made it clear that we want to trade him. So that's not like something new. We want to try and get rid of him, try to make him happy. As far as I'm concerned, if a player doesn't want to be here, I don't want him here.''
Lynch is sidelined for up to two to three weeks with a heel injury. Team officials said he will do all of his rehabilitation work in Dallas, his hometown.

He also doesn't deserve to be on the Hornets...then again, nobody does.
look he worked hold got a nba contract
is getting paid
he deserves to be a hornet
no one should demand to be traded full stop
Lynch has been demanding a trade. Does that mean Nachbar will be the starting SF now? Or was he already the starting SF?
I don't know about the first question but Nachbar came off the bench.
I think Nailon ended up starting the most at the 3. Lynch played a little over half the season and started 27 games.
Hornets have a few guys that can start at the small forward spot. They picked up that Lithuanian sharpshooter Arvydas Masijauskas and had thoughts of starting JR Smith at the small forward spot. After that 15 player trade, they picked up Rasual Butler and Kirk Snyder who could start at the small forward spot. And, already mentioned, Bostjan Nachbar could start as well. None seem to be better than average if not below average starters at the 3, but on a young, rebuilding team with low expectations, giving all of them good minutes would probably be the best decision. I would start either Nachbar or Rasual Butler.
Yeah, I figured Nachbar would start, I drafted him in this 20 team league since there wasn't much you could pick from.
So basically he just wants to go to a contending team so he can watch from the sidelines all year and get a ring next fall?
What a pathetic .
I hate guys that sign contracts and then refuse to play for them, especially bottom-feeders like Lynch. I can't imagine a contending team would be willing to sacrifice their chemistry for a player like that, but someone always manages to surprise me.
