Last year we saw what happened against OKC. The team got outrebounded and outhustled by Adams and Kanter. The year before that, Griffin and D Jordan were the problem. Do you think the Spurs will be fine this time if they meet OKC or the Clips again in the playoffs? I think with the addition of Dedmon and Lee, the team is better than last year. Im just thinking about Gasol knowing he had been Blake's

    Thoughts?

We should be fine in that aspect if everything goes as planned, the only downside i see is that 3 of our 4 (4 of 5 actually) main rotation bigs are new, at some point that will be a issue, letīs hope itīs sooner than later.

Why is that an issue exactly?

I'm not concerned with an OKC-style loss. The Spurs backup bigs are both great rebounders. Now whether LMA and Pau are able to do enough against Griffin and Jordan is another question, however.

I'm sure LMA's size can bother Griffin's game to a certain point but DeAndre's athleticism vs Pau it's a nightmare.

Wasn't Timmy able to post up DeAndre?
    My memory fails me.

I remember Blake being a problem in '15, but more in the 1st half. Then it was more of the CP3 pulling up / flop show.

I see Dedmond playing a larger role than Pau in games with an athletic front court. What a relief it is that he doesn't seem to be a total bust.

CP3 and Re were problems back then because of the looming Blake and jordan alleyoops and putbacks in the paint. I guess the team will try to score more with Pau in there since he's gonna be abused on P & Rs. Also, bait Mo Speights to take more 3s lol

I thought Dedmon was a terrible pickup.

Another low-BB-IQ big man project that Pop was bound to hate in short order.

Pop's dog house for project bigs is like Alcatraz.

But Dedmon looks like the real deal who could allow the Spurs to compete for it all. Great energy, great athleticism, even has a bit of a J.

So great to be so wrong.

PG against the Clippers is a corcern, not the bigs. Between LA, Gasol, Dedmon and West I doubt there's a team in the league that has a combination of bigs that can hurt the Spurs.

The Magic's defense seemed to improve by playing Dedmon at C last season.
Then again, Vuc is not particularly known for his defense.

It surprises me that he's making jumpers though. I liked the pick up because I thought the Spurs needed a roll man on offense, rim protector on defense, and overall a more athletic and younger big man.

    So far so good..

More concerned with the point guard.

Front-court is the strength this year.

Not concerned at all. Dedmon will get more burn against the clippers. Plenty of small ball fours. The frontline is much more versatile than last year from a match up perspective and bench rebounding is greatly improved.

Tbh, CP3 versus Porker is the only match-up I worry about with the Clippers at this point.

Deandre is a scrub. If he's the difference in a series, then the Spurs are a fraud.

Backourt is the real issue. Danny and kawhi has to shoulder a massive amount of defensive load in a potential GSW and LA series..and thats ty if your Number one offensive option by far us also kawhi..

Essentially our Starting PG is going to hurt Kawhi offense hust because he's a terrible defender...But maybe Pop sticks danny on CP3 and rely on Tony to play good offball defense against red ..

I mean they play Mbah a Moute...

You mentioned West. I know it was a typo, but I don't like hearing that name.

Simmons defense has made tremendous strides this year. He's not getting lost, he's cut way down on stupid fouls, he's staying in front of his man, fighting through picks and he's picking up charges. He gives the Spurs an effective third perimeter defender.

Like others have alluded to, Dedmon would probably get the nod against those teams with athletic bigs.

PG play isn't an issue either against the Clips. Kawhi is usually guarding CP3 or Re and then Green will be in the picture. Throw TP on Mbah a Moute. If he takes advantage and has a great game, so be it.
