My favorite Rams player growing up was UOP's Bass. He had gone to Vallejo HS and the other halfback married my cousin Eva Dean. I lived in Vallejo until I was six.

Bass was the nations all purpose yardage leader at UOP, he was a darter with speed. The first Ram to have a 1000 yard season.

The great Olympic sprinter Ollie Matson was also a Ram, they traded nine players to get his speed.
