More of the Tim Duncan effect to me or at least that's the reason I watch less
FOXSW tv ratings dropped 43% from last year. I don't think it's because Tim retired.
Some of it can be cable cutters but I think the main cause is DIRECT TV placing
FOXSOUTHWEST in it's sports tier that you have to pay extra for. On all the cable
systems in and around San Antonio FOXSW is not in a sports tier you have to pay
extra for. The Spurs should pressure Direct TV to put it in a package like basic or HD tier.
Another thing is I no longer listen or read interviews from POP. He has this elitist at ude
that if you didn't vote for Hillary you are a stupid rube hick...I didn't vote for Hillary because
I couldn't get over letting 4 men die in Libya die with no help. Did POP have a problem with that?
Also I wont vote for Sanders because he is a socialist.

OP is a got possum eater
your dumbass politics you Mongoloid ing moron.
Sly way to get your political views across. WHO CARES!!!
What wasn't mentioned and should be noted is that local TV ratings for the league were also down and that the Spurs are top 5 in the league in local TV ratings.
Thanks for the rest of the story. But do you mean that local tv ratings in San Antonio are down for other league games that do not have the Spurs?
Although not the intent of OP, the subject of this thread and lack of viewership from TV deals has made me wonder how it will affect the NBA revenue next season, the cap, etc.
OP not listening to Pop's interviews anymore probably the biggest factor, tbh
Another sign that this year may be better than we think.
For me, no Tim has made it feel odd this year, but I've honestly watched as many games as in the past. Although I will admit that I've missed a lot of games fully knowing that I'll just watch the 9 minute highlights on YouTube and feeling pretty satisfied about it.
AndAs much as we want to put each other down for voting or not voting for a certain candidate, it would be ignorant to say that pops political rants has had no bearing on local tv viewership.
I didn't vote and I HATED both candidates but I personally get annoyed by his political rants. But I'm too big a Spurs fan to care and again I don't care about trump so I don't care that he's putting him down but those Spurs fans who are trump fans might feel differently. Instead I wish he would rant when the refs are screwing us in the playoffs or rant when he's getting out coached.
no one gives a what you think.
Probably Pop's mouth.
Ratings for other markets are down for their local nba games. Both the NBA and the NFL have experienced lower ratings.
Yes, but does that account for viewership increasing over streaming?
I believe last year was the first full year of the Foxsports App, and THIS year was the first year you could cast to a platform like Cromecast. That's the only way I catch the games, unless ESPN is streaming.
Gotta be
It's mostly due to the cord-cutting wave honestly.
Lol...give Pop haters any "negative" Spurs-related news and they will pounce on it and blame his political views. They are just sitting waiting.
It is a mix of things, TD is gone, and Pop careless coaching is a bummer, add to that his political views and you can lose audience.
This is the most boring Spurs team since 2004. They're very iso heavy and the beautiful game isn't quite there with this personnel.
It's because Poop the Activist is now a political activist and not a coach. If Poop doesn't give a crap about coaching the team, why should fans care to watch? Also, Poop doesn't respect our President. RC will have to fire Poop soon.
Welcome to the Kawhi era. Boring Af and won't ever win without Duncan dragging him kicking & screaming.
You can thank Pop and his fascist ideologies. Alot people in San Antonio are fed up with his BS.
Not many. No one gives a he is democrat. SA is blue.![]()
