He'll be the 2nd best Spur of all time when it's all said and done. And this is coming from a HUGE DRob fan
His defense in 2017 has improved superbly. More especially when Dedmon was inserted in the SL.
Might be considered consensus 2nd best player in the world if Dominoes returns and is not the same player he was before the injury..
The MVP discussion is clearly LeBron and Kawhi, not Westbrook vs Harden.
Sorry, but Kawhi's defense is hurting the Spurs. I read it in an article.
The only MVP I care about Kawhi winning is Finals MVP. Again.
"Spurs are 4-1 without Kawhi."![]()

Harden deserved mention. The team is like 3rd in the league. I would say top 3 team in the entire league best player deserves nominations, considering the numbers he is putting up. However in saying that, Spurs could be number 1 by season end, and you would think Leonard would be the deserving front runner. Sadly, the Spurs don't promote this type of stuff, and I think Lebron and Harden get's a lot of media attention. Heck Durant might even get a few votes just because the team was number 1 and without him they dropped. And apparently Leonard is 3rd favourite to win defensive player of the year, with Draymond and Gobert being 1 and 2. So this insanely good season by Leonard may result in the leagues best team at the end of 82, and with only one Allstar on the team, he may not win MVP and DPOY. A real joke if that occurs.
Houston is in 57 win pace - going to be very hard for Kawhi to overcome a guy leading that team with 29 / 11 / 8 even if his efficiency puts Harden's to shame and is playing first team all defense level. D'Antoni should receive serious COTY consideration.
Lebron-Kawhi-Westbrook-Harden are a lock for first team all NBA. Everything else is up in the air.
I would think Leonard's shooting % to go with that elite defense is on par with good stats.
they both have a 61% TS percentage tbh
He is the ing MVP the guy is ridiculous and Durant is not better than him hurt or not.
He has really impressed me over the last few weeks. His offensive game has become more varied, with different moves and a lot of ways to score. He improved at drawing fouls and getting to the line. He is using his strength to bully defenders with strong post up moves, finishing with one hand hook shots. And, he's been doing it even when his 3-ball isn't falling. That is the true mark of a superstar, they find a way to produce even when one facet of their game isn't working.
If he has big games vs the other contending players' teams, it's a lock, tbh
Sad but true. Kawhi's carrying this team alone...
I wonder why we don't see Russ or Harden there...
I'm starting to get real excited watching him ramp up his defense. It's ing awesome when Kawhi is locked in defensively and wreaking total havoc.
Kawhi's already better than Durant, tbh.
Who would have guess the year after Tim retires the Spurs would already have the 2nd best player in the league.
Man he has been absolutely amazing this year. Can he continue to dominate both sides of the ball with such a high usage rate over the next few years? That has to take a toll on his body. Spurs really need to find him some help after this season, he is carrying such a heavy load for this team.
