Wow, the game was AWESOME. It was the first time watching the Spurs live, so it was a little akward to see them so close. Before the game, I was fortunate to get autographs from Allen Iverson, Robert Horry, Manu Ginobili, and Kyle Kover (so happy). Finley and Brent just ran into the locker room, not wanting to sign However, both Parker and Rasho were willing to sign autographs, but they went to the other side so I didnt' get theres. It seems like the 76ers player were nicer since they all stoped to sign, but it could be just because they are the home team. Who knows? I got there early to see the Spurs practice. Horry, Brent, and Finley shot for a long time. And Parker also practiced awhile with the new shooting coach's presence. It almost seems like he is Parker's new personal coach. As for the other regulars, they just shot a bit and went back to the locker rooms. Duncan barely practiced at all because I didn't see him practice when I got there. The spring training invitees just shot a little after all the regular players left. During the shoot around right before the game started, Duncan just messed around. Haha

As for the game, I was a little disappointed not to see Manu, Fabri, Brent, and Mohommad play. Here is an analysis of each player at the game:

-Duncan: Great as always, but with much better free-throws (yay!)

-Finley: He didn't look to good. Lots of turnovers and couldn't make shots. He confused alot

-Rasho: He played pretty well: nice defense, and he made his shots

-Parker: His shot looks great. Maybe the new shooting coach is helping already (I wish )

    -Bowen: Same

-Udrih: Wasn't his best night. Made several turnovers.

-Horry: played great. He really helped the new comers out on the court. Great defense

-Van Exel: Didn't make a lot of his shots. He was just okay.

-Sanders: He looked great. He played really hard and made several great offensive plays. He also did a good job defending AI. All the Spur players and Coach Pop really like him. Some Spurs stood up and high fived him after he fouled out. Coach Pop slapped his butt several times, appreciating his play. haha. He's my choice to make the team.

-Graham: Didn't look good. Made several mistakes. I doubt he'll make the team

-Ford: Played pretty well, although not as good as the Miami game. Good defense and GREAT offensive plays. I bet he'll make the last spot in our roster

-Williams: He did okay. Nothing special. Won't make the team

    -Marks: he did okay too.

    Sidenotes:

-The 76ers' hip-hop bunny was awesome. He did several amazing dunks from the trampaulin. He and y were hilarious the whole time.

-The crowd managed to do a 5 Minute wave! it was so awesome.

-The Colonial Center was really nice

-The basketball court looks so much smaller on TV

-The Fan Cam and Kissing Cams were great. We saw several people dance. Haha they were funny.

    Here are some pics:

Awesome! I am glad you had such a nice time.

I am sorry for you that Gino didn't play. Guess that means you'll have to go to another game sometime. = )

Finley is going to be the difference between this year's Spurs being a great team and a really good team. Yes, they'll still be the favorites to win the O'Brien, but if Finley pans out things will be a whole lot easier. There are no guarantees. He hit a few shots against the Heat but he didn't seem that comfortable on offense and on D he looked lost at times. The good thing is that he will have a season to figure it out. But Spurs fans shouldn't take that for granted.

Finley and Horry will be hanging out, drinking beer and playing cards on the bench until the playoffs anyway.

Great analysis and congratulations on being able to go to the game! I'm sorry that Manu didnt play but like angel_luv said I guess that's another reason to see another game.

I was hoping to go see the Spurs when they played the Hornets down in New Orleans early next year but we all know what happened to that plan.

Melvin Sanders...did he have much lift or explosion to the basket in this game? timvp says he can't elevate. (I've seen otherwise, but that was 2 yrs. ago)

    You mean NVE and Horry.
NVE will also be in contention for the Steve Smith Cardplayer of the Year award.

Robert Horry is kept in a glass box with a hammer chained to it and the inscription "Break glass in event of playoffs".

I hope they remembered to put holes in the box this time.

I have a question. Is it impossible to get autographs at real NBA games and arenas? If so, why? Everyone I told said how lucky I am.

It is not impossible. But to get to the railing where the players are you have to have lower level tickets.
Also as you said sometimes players sign stuff but on the opposite side from you.

You are lucky in that you had an opportunity that lots of people want without ever getting.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention what happened before I got manu's autograph. Manu wans't play so he just sat at the scorer's table during shoot-around, so I went down to get his autograph. But a cop stopped me. So I just yelled "Manu" and he told hte cop it was okay!!! How cool of him.
