Clippers: Thigh bruise sidelines Brand

Clippers forward Elton Brand wasn't thrilled that a thigh bruise, suffered Monday in practice, sidelined him for the team's preseason opener on Wednesday. "I'm kind of bummed out", Brand told the Los Angeles Times. "One day left in training and a guy falls on my leg, but I'm going to play in at least five of these preseason games."

Brand's disappointment stems from the desire to get a team with a number of new arrivals on the same page prior to the regular season. The Clippers should put arguably their most talented starting five on the court that they have seen in a long time and at the center of that will be Brand. Fantasy owners can safely expect the usual 20-10 from Elton nearly every night.
