I almost failed ceramics when I was required to take it as part of my art curriculum. Part of it was that I don't think in three dimensions, but it is pretty difficult. All of my pieces fell apart - sometimes before they even got to the kiln.
But I have a lot of respect for people who are good at it.
In my first try I did 2 pots.... not that they would be big or notable.
But it takes a load of patience, I too have respect for the KKK member of a teacher that I got.

i made a barney rubble candle snuffer out of clay. then the teacher put it in the oven and i painted it...eh he he he he, a he he he...oh, those were the days...
