Having kids is expensive. $18K to charity doesn't seem like a necessity though, at least not when you have student loans and all that other debt compiled in that scenario they laid out.
It should really be a one word article. Kids.
Not totally outrageous if you ask me. If you work at a high end NY lawfirm or an investment bank, then you need to be dressed well. That budget cover a family of four but a single good suit can set you back $2500 (which is what I have paid before).
3 weeks of vacation. Lol. What a joke.
I get 4
If you don't have kids, you can live comfortably, in a house, without roommates, on $25k a year. True story.
I can confirm that a family of 4 can live quite comfortably on much less than 500k.
this is the forgotten man that trump was talking about... the guy struggling on 500k per year. ing liberal elites leaving these people behind
Bull . Two kids don't make people buy nearly 2 grand in food a month. They don't force you to lease two luxury vehicles, or buy a 1.5 million dollar house (even in New York). Or spend a grand a month on ing Mandarin lessons. These people make good money and feel like they have to maintain a certain lifestyle to fit in. That's their prerogative, but don't that you're broke. There's thousands of dollars that can be shaved off that budget and they'd still have a cushy lifestyle.
I take 2 months.
This turned into a weird pissing contest.
Did you get some in your mouth?
i take two months and one day.
You can get a suit for way, way less than that, have it tailored, and nobody will know the difference. Like everything else, you're paying for a label.
If you know anything about suits you'll know and feel the difference. That's not to say some brands don't overcharge for crap but serious quality suits cost coin.
Bespoke, sure, but anything less than that is not worth that kind of money.
Suits are for posers though. I just use my $70 Calvin Klein suit and pants set with a $6 George black tie from Walmart whenever I need to dress fancy. But I probably do that 3-4 times a year and always just wore cheap collared shirts to work. Lol at posers overpaying for clothes.
lol... why not just take your kids to Chinatown and learn for free? Or cough up $300 one-time on a Rosetta Stone?
to get a decent suit you're going to spend north of $500, and to get a good suit it's gonna be in the 700-800 range at least... but paying beyond 2k is just to show off and unnecessary
i had to spend a bunch of money on new suits when i clerked at the court
My months are 31 day months, yours probably aren't.
Especially if you wear suits on the regular. I can see owning a tux if you do formal enough to warrant it, but I cannot see owning 10K in 4 suits. Doesn't make sense to me. If you're wealthy and suits are all you wear, doesn't matter.
Some people think they have to spend everything they earn because they can afford it. Their "afford" is different than the rest of us. Many times these folks have parents who can/will safety net them when the funds dry up.
