For some reason, the TicTacTrot crew is obsessed with running as the measure of athleticism.

Running is the biggest participation activity in the world. It's easy.

Furthermore, a 104 year old marathon runner will run more in a day than a TicTacTrot player will run in 5 games. So I guess 104 year old marathon runners are better athletes than TicTacTrot players now.

Funny enough, pitching is a lot more physically demanding than jogging around for 90 minutes.

"Shoulder rotation in baseball pitching is the fastest motion of any joint in any athlete," Fleisig says; moving faster than hip joints in sprinters or shoulders in elite tennis players."
    TicTacTrot loses again.

Still waiting for a beisbol clip/gif funnier or more disgusting than the ones of the German coach eating his boogers, sniffing his armpits, sniffing his balls, and digging in his butthole and taking a big ole whiff.

    Can it be done?

Anyhow, why do TicTacTrot fans still even try? They've lost every troll battle. Let's review:

They said soccer players are more athletic. Proven wrong by hard data.

They said the majority of baseball players are fat. Proven wrong.

They said baseball is easy because Michael Jordan tried playing (and failed by being the worst player in the league [AA]) and because Tim Tebow is trying (top 5 worst player in the league in freakin low A. He did get called up to High A to sell tickets, though). Fact is more "failed" athletes have transitioned to other sports with more success than vice versa.

And ClipperNation put the stake in the heart here when he found that a in' beer league team who never practices almost beat a professional soccer club. Never, ever would happen in any other sport.

Damn, can't find the pic on google. Saw it on another sports forum and they were making fun of the fact he's a repeat offender in that area

    Save what game?

World Series ratings were higher than NBA Finals ratings (and this is a fair comparison, since last season's NBA featured the biggest storyline in American sports [Cleveland sports curse] while the World Series featured the 2nd biggest storyline in American sports). Regional ratings continue to smash. Attendance is up. And baseball still polls (by a wide margin) as the US's 2nd favorite sport.

If you knew something about baseball, you'd understand that the increase in homers has nothing to do with juice or juiced balls.

It's an old white man's game. Younger generations aren't drawn to fatball. That's no secret.

Proof? Oh, "journalistic" articles that only look at ESPN national game of the week ratings to make their case?

Actual poll conducted by the Economist:

As you can see, "young people" follow both the NBA and MLB with equal interest across the board (Closely/Somewhat closely evens out when combined).

On this poll, baseball beats the NBA in the coveted 18-34 demo:

Most popular team participation sport in the US (when combined with softball) in 2016:

Baseball and softball combined to rank as the most participated team sport in 2016, according to the annual report by the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, a leader in sports participation research.
The MLB has more frequent attendees in the 18-34 group than the NFL, MLS, and NHL.

Another faulty assumption you have is that tastes remain static throughout life. Kids don't know what they like at 8,9,10 years old. Today, their favorite sport is football, tomorrow, it's hockey.

    you can't be that naive

    Please enlighten me.
You should be able to figure it out since baseball is an "easy" sport to analyze.

the better question is what adds more. Before I first saw a game of beisball I legitimately thought that it was some sort of amateur game at a grand hamburger eating contest tbh.

But hitting a ball at XXX MPH!!!!!!!
Now imagine doing that with a foot or catching it without having full body armor

A soccer ball has the density of a balloon compared to a baseball and loses over 20% of its velocity as soon as its kicked due to drag. A baseball loses about 7mph every 60 feet. Yeah, trying taking this shot to the head:

Had to have emergency brain surgery. And get this, he wanted to stay in the game.

Meanwhile, those gots in TacTacFlop act like they've been shot after getting flicked in the ear.

And you Neanderthals love to sit there and watch this garbage while you bang on drums for hours as the game ends in yet another tie.

What does the dirty, pathological ticks of a guy have to do with a sport? This is getting way off track, tbh.
