I am having an odd ankle issue. It feels like a sprain, but it is only painful intermittently. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes it doesn't. I don't recall ever spraining it or anything. I just woke up one morning and it hurt. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be? I can run, jump, and play tennis with no problem. The problem arises at random times. Sometimes while I am playing it will suddenly hurt, then go away. Other times I could just be walking in the house and it hurts. It is extremely annoying. Any ideas?

Are you overweight or over 50? Any problems with blood pressure or diabetes?

If not, sounds like a nerve issue but I'm no doctor. If you injured that ankle before it can be some lingering damage that is getting aggravated.

I am slightly overweight but only by 10 lbs or so. I don't believe I sleep on it wrong either. It just feels like a sprain at random times. I was thinking about going to the doctor as it has lingered for a couple months now despite my decrease in activity. I may just have to go to get it looked at because it is highly annoying.

Is that a real 10 lbs? or a San Antonio 10 lbs which is really 30 lbs.

LOL!!! Fair enough. A real 10 lbs. Target weight is 155 and I am at 163. I add pounds to keep me working.

Try exercising/stretching it upon waking. Easy does it, but, thoroughly work it out. Give the Achilles heel a long stretch in a full/deep crouch. Get down into it and have patience to just let it stretch. Start out with 5, then 7, then 9 and 11. Flex your toes to assist the stretching. Really work that Achilles, allowing it to find it's freedom.

I call this my [Whoa Exercise] each day. I fight it, sometimes I skip it and when I do I regret it.

Doubtful. Doesn't sound at all like gout.
It's either cancer or some kind of mild AIDS.

I thought this too at first, but there would be swelling and stuff. There is no swelling. Basically it will hurt for 5 minutes, and then it will disappear. It is confusing the out of me.

If you had gout, it'd be sore to even touch.
I was kidding of course about the AIDS.
But it could be intermittent cancer.

Yep, this is the first thing that came to my mind as well..

Usually starts in the big toe but can develop in any of your joints really.
