I don't really like apples all that well but we'll always buy some because they last longer than most other fruit. So when all the good fruit is gone, I'll grab an apple.
Also, they're supposed to be good for you so there's that. And also throw them in a smoothie.
So many kinds and I've probably not tried them all. But here's my ratings.
I'll also say that for Jazz, Honeycrisp, Pink Ladies, etc....if you put one sticker on the other, I probably wouldn't know.
1. Granny Smith - I like the sourness of them
2. Jazz
3. Honey Crisp
then a bunch of others
Last Place: Red delicious - I hate these things.
Honorable mention - the Grapel. Some kind of apple that they infuse with some kind of chemical that makes it take like grape.

Ugh. They're gross. And they get all mealy quicker than other apples. They are the last place apple. Just see the ratings in the OP.

Gala and the other yellowish-orange-red mixed ones are the best. Especially the ones that HEB imports from New Zealand.
Agree with OP, Red Non-Delicious are the worst. And they're my mom's favorite and the ones she always got me growing up so I rarely liked to eat apples growing up. It wasn't until high school when I discovered the yellowish ones.
