You've probably heard of this kid, if you haven't, you've been missing out. This kid is special and will be a superstar in the league, mark my words. I'd trade anyone on the team to get him. Anyone. He is 18, MVP and 2nd best scorer of Euroleague so far. Spurs are not winning this season, especially with how mentally fragile Kawhi is, so why not tank and draft the Don...

    lol anyone

If you're trading Kawhi there's no need to tank because any team would trade the 1st pick for him (because they're not morons) even with a year left on his contract. It'd be a move though, cause he'd lose on the chance to sign his supermax contract.

Also, Spurs can't afford to tank - they lost money last season despite getting to the WCF and not paying tax. The franchise absolutely cannot afford to tank even for a single season.

Very interesting. Where do you get the Spurs' financial info? Would you please post it?

Thanks for the link. Wow! Looks pretty grim. Like the only real answer is for teams to even share local media receipts, too. A league wouldn't be viable with only 10-12 teams - if solvency is the determining factor.

Big fan of Luka - He looks like the best guard to come out of Europe since Manu. No chance of us landing him.

i cant think of anyway we can get into the lottery....Green + 1st or young player for Brooklyn's pick (now projected late lottery) would give CLE another piece.

Its time to shop Green whilst we can still hopefully get an asset.

Also, Spurs can't afford to tank - they lost money last season despite getting to the WCF and not paying tax. The franchise absolutely cannot afford to tank even for a single season.

Most teams lose money yet half the league have a higher payroll then the spurs (including small markets like OKC, CLE, TOR, MIL).

Holt is and always will be a ing cheapskate and it has cost us multiple opportunities to improve the roster over the years.

Whats most fustrating is seeing our main compe ion go out and "buy" 2 legit prospects in back to back seasons for 3M whilst we have to rely on Simmons, Neal situations.

Imagine if RC/POP could speculate and buy an extra pick like G/S have been.

This season seems lost anyway. Kawhi won't be healthy all year.

Too late to seriously tank and even when the Spurs try to lose they pull off wins. Also no guarantee he'll be a success in the NBA. Look at most teams that have been tanking, they're still teams even with all those hyped up draft picks.

He'll probably be like that Euro bust the Pistons drafted and only played good against us, tbh.

This. Tanking doesn't guarantee success when it comes to drafting. Spurs are better off consistently winning. Even if they have a period of '8-'11 where they are not contending they can always make trades to get a good pick much like they did in '11 to get Kawhi.

Depends on what team gets the 1st pick, but I'd say he should be 1st above Bagley, Ayton and Porter. He's played in more high profile games than these and against much better compe ion.

He still has some questions about his athleticism and speed on the NBA level, but there's no way he'd be a complete bust because he has so many skills and intangibles. A better shooting, less athletic Ben Simmons.

Yeah, he's legit. They put freaks like Rakim Sanders or Thanasis Antetokounmpo on him and double team him on almost every pick n' roll.

Whoever passes on him, will regret it deeply. He has proven he can play against the best players in Europe, former and current NBA players, while others play college ball, lmao. Much higher risk taking someone from college than Doncic, who has proven himself for 100 times.

I haven't seem him play enough to really know but this is what I'm thinking. He looks like he doesn't move like a superstar guard or forward typically moves. That crossover looked really cool, but it also looked kinda slow. Is he really going to be crossing over any decent NBA wing defenders? I doubt it. Idk, too me he looks like he's going to be a good player but not a superstar. And if he's as good as people say he is I might have to eat my words on that one. I think he turns out to be everything people wanted Hezonja to be but hasn't been.

He reminds me a bit of a better more of a wing version of Danilo Gallinari, does anybody see that comparison at all? Like I'd think his bust potential is pretty low bc he has a huge skillet but I also don't know if that skillset translates him into being a #1 option at the highest level or more of a #2 or 3 option. Idk, my biggest issue with him is the way he moves. I think that's whats held Bruno Caboclo back from being a monster in the NBA (not saying they're comparable but I do think the way they move isn't necessarily great).

Spurs are not winning this season, especially with how mentally fragile Kawhi is
    For real?

-Kawhi missed a crucial FT in 2013 Finals, he won FMVP in 2014 and became the best team FTs shooter in the last 3 seasons

-Spurs were eliminated in 2015 1st round, Kawhi was MVP runner up in 2016.

-Spurs were eliminated in 2016 2nd round, Kawhi was top 3 MVP in 2017 and played one of the best playoffs in NBA history

This is the only season in six years that Kawhi didn't come back better and stronger because an injury... And suddenly, he's fragile.

IDK about if Doncic is the prospect you say but if thinking Kawh is mentally fragile is how you judge talent...Damn

I was reffering to his slow recovery from this "mystery" injury and to many quotes saying how poorly Kawhi is handling this rehab. You can laugh now, but we'll see in a year or two how things go. And of course, I wish the best to both of them.
