Because NBA worries about players hurt feelings when fans don’t pick them. This is all a waste. I hope no Spurs go. It’s a game designed for the type of player that isn’t on the Spurs roster. So why worry about LMA going there to score 4 points?
Cousins had more fan votes than LMA but your right about Manu having more fan votes than Harden. On the positive side Draymond got ed over by the media and player votes. If they were going just by fan votes Draymond would have gotten in.
Maybe the game should just have players from the Dubs/Rockettes/Cavs/Celtics. With Ball in because he's from Major Market LA.
Since his feelings will be hurt if he doesn't go and he might regress to playing lime last year.
Coach Kerr should call him up anyways, IMO...

It's about ego for a lot of these guys including LMA. A lot of these guys feel getting selected for the ASG is validation for being one of the best players in the world. The ASG game is crap but believe me it means a lot for the players. It's part of the reason why a lot of guys don't want to play for the Spurs because they know their scoring will go down and thus hurt their chances to get into the ASG.
Whats the chances Manu votes get ignored and Dame Dolla/Eric Gordon/Lou Williams or whatever get in in his place?
Manu should be MVP of the league tbh. He is carrying this team since Kaknee is a cripple.

I think it would be a very nice gesture for Kerr to add him to the squad in light of the fan vote. Especially a capstone to such an illustrious career where he gave up so much in terms of playing time in order to help the team. On a weaker team he would have been a starting star and probably awarded All Star recognitiion.

Manu goes and plays 3 minutes and never sees the ball. Seems like a waste of time for him. I’m sure he’d rather be home with his family.
