79 percent of Americans preferring merit-based immigration over chain migration, according to a Harvard-Harris poll. African Americans want it at an 85 percent clip. And apparently Hispanics are racist against themselves for wanting it a 72 percent clip.

Are you saying that currently, you can't sponsor your parents and siblings? and your spouse's parents and siblings and so on and so forth?
"chain migration" is propaganda, a coded catch phrase (like "climate change", instead of "global warming"), to inflame the racists, nativists.
Naturalized citizens sponsoring relatives into USA is a lot more difficult, expensive, and time-consuming than the racist messaging, that you have of course been willfully suckered by, behind "chain migration" which LIES that chain migration means the a naturalized citizens can sponsor 10s of blood relatives and in-laws easily. immediately and cheaply.
