First unit couldn't get out of its own way. Second unit has no one to penetrate, through driving nor rolling.
Knowing Pop has “moved on” already, what would these lineups do?
Tony Parker
Manu Ginobili
Kawhi Leonard
Rudy Gay
LaMarcus Aldridge
Dejonte Murray
Patty Mills
Danny Green
Kyle Anderson
Pau Gasol
Brynn Forbes
Davis Bertans
Joffrey Lauvergne

The main problem I see is the second unit has pretty much no ability to create their own shot. Thoughts fam?

I'd love to see Kawhi run 1st team and Aldridge run 2nd team. I know it would never happen, but that would alleviate the touches issue when both are not on the floor quite as much. All the while, give us a All-star attack for 48 minutes.
Would be pretty ing lethal.
I always wondered what if the Spurs played modern iso ball with the first unit to suit LMA and Kiwi's strengths but went total beautiful game with the second unit? So Dijon, Patty, KingSlayer, Not this Gay, and LMAlpha on first unit, MVParker, LDN, Manu, Kyle, and Pau (or Davis or he'll resurrect Diaw 2.0) on 2nd unit. Basically giving opposing team two different teams/attacks to prepare for.
For all we know Kawhi is coming back, the 3 people that I trust are; Jabari Young, Marc Stein, and Stephen Jackson, and all have said Kawhi is coming back.
Having said that, I think he needs to replace Patty in the starting line up. That would be great, obviously, he is a huge upgrade on defense. Offensively, he should stick to the perimeter like Patty does and let LA do his thing, he is good enought of threat to stretch the floor. I am having hard time imagining the opposing team would leave him alone.
Our second unit should be; Tony, Manu, Patty, Gay, and Pau. That unit can score and will help us maintain leads.
To those that think LA and Kawhi have trouble playing together go watch the warriors game again, they are fine together and quite frankly they need each other. Much like Kobe needed Shaq and Pau. The Lakers were not a contender w/o Shaq and became a contender again when Pau arrived. LA can demand the double team and has gotten much better at sharing the ball this year. Kawhi isolation is the perfect weapon to complement a player like LA. Which is why Rudy Gay has been so good for us this year. Every time he touches the ball he looks to score for himself. We need that from Kawhi to be an elite team.

Patty Meals should be a reserve for the Austin Spurs.
It's just a shame lineups with Kawhi can't really be taken seriously.
If he's back, he's back, but there is no point in considering lineups with him in it right now bc Spurs themselves aren't thinking that way. I am going with Manu. He's not coming back this season. Manu was in that player's meeting and he came out of it with a very clear mind counting Kiwi out.
