Shooting for equality of outcome only leads to racist and sexist measures. Equality of opportunity is the goal. It should be but the left went off the deep end.

It's actually a much more interesting read, IMO, whether you agree with it or not.
Seems to be this country is experimenting on equal opportunity, tbh, first they picked a black president, then what can mildly be described as an entertainer...
In light of that, Nathan might have a point about merit after all, tbh...
equality of opportunity is exactly what the white male supremacists don't want.
Males are quite happy getting hired more, getting paid more than females, blacks, browns.
White males vote for Trash because they feel their white male privilege is being reduced.
Equality of opportunity sounds great. But then we get an entertainer president trying to hire people who are totally unqualified to do a job. You want your personal doctor to take on the rigors of changing a giant bureaucracy into a functional ins ution? Say what? The man does not have a clue.... There are some flipping skills involved. You want a person who is an expert at creating functional ins utions performing microsurgery on you? You suggest a candidate who does not even know the law to be a judge? “Sure, anyone can do it, just give em a chance”...
So yeah that sounds great, but you have to be able to produce people who have the capability of doing the job. That comes mostly through education, and so we solve this how? Because we have not created classrooms where students receive an equality of opportunity. And much more importantly, homes that are capable of creating an equality of opportunity. And this is largely because the root cause of the inequality of opportunity that starts in the home can’t even be recognized or addressed.
Imo, all political persuasions dance around the real problem. Some don’t even see it as a problem.
This article tries to suggest a strategy to put a pretty topping on a rotten cake.

The concept of white privilege is merely tactic to maximize white guilt. Blanket terms don't start conversations or create action to solve issues. You have to be specific with the problem if you want to formulate in plan to solve it.

i dont know that i've ever called you racist. white privilege doesn't mean that while people are racist.
the concept of white privilege isn't a moral accusation against individual people. it's why i dont get offended or defensive despite having white skin.
what are some "privileges?"
- it's pretty rare for a white person to be in a group of some sort (classroom, team, club, etc) where you realize that you're the only white person there.
- when you're part of a group, people dont ask you to somehow speak on behalf of an entire race... "hey chris, what's the white opinion on subject x"
- statistically, you you dont have to worry about not getting a job interview because of your name
- people dont question your immigration status based on your appearance/language
- if you're walking down the street at night with your friends and a squad car drives along, none of you fear for your safety
- you are statistically likelier to get more lenient sentences for the same crimes than certain minority counterparts
i dont think it would be accurate to look at "privilege" as a bunch of tangible things literally handed to you. rather, its just a set of stuff that you quite frankly dont have to worry about, that somebody else might. because you've never had to worry about those things happening to you, its not something you consciously think of all the time.
if some white dude is struggling to make ends meet, is exhausted and hungry, and gets home at 11:30pm after a double shift to a home with busted A/C in the middle of july, of course he's not gonna think "man, i'm super in lucky that nobody asked me for 'the white perspective' on an issue today." his life is still tough. he isn't racist. the point is that his day to day issues dont include certain things that are more or less exclusive to some minorities.
Oh look, some professor said something that will go absolutely nowhere. Racism on the left has run amok!
