No. He still cares and got the team to the playoffs even after being blind sided by one of the most bizarre situations in recent nba history.

He didn’t have a great game 1 - but that is not enough to question him. Come on.

    It might happen

Today's NBA star's don't want to play for a coach who throws them under the bus instead of admitting his mistakes after a loss.
It's no wonder Kawhi wants to bolt.

    Senile coach vs young superstar?
The FO might have to make a difficult choice

No point in firing him. He will stop coaching the team in 2 years.

I want him out, but if LMA-O goes to another city Spurs are done, so Poop will have a 30 win team and that will be perfect because he is so funny when the time to make some self-criticism comes.

He was always just another rider on Tim Duncan's coattails.

He should have retired when timmy did like he always said he would...but of course his ego wouldnt allow it. Hopefully now hes getting some humble pie

the spurs were 14-27 on the road this year... getting waxed by GSW shouldn't be shocking. but only the rockets and raptors were better home teams than the spurs this year (by 1 game). so i'll wait until games 3/4 before pinning this on pop... it's not like anybody really showed up game 1

The moment he made basketball about race and politics was it for me. Grfo here with that bull . Liberal or conservative I don’t give a . Why do white people always feel they can speak on minority issues let alone a basketball coach. A ing basketball coach is lecturing.

Not a big fan of virtue signaling? Pop lives for it.

Exactly. No only did he prove he was a self righteous bag beyond which had alwayd been apparent, but he took 'the spurs way' and punted it into the stands..years of 'no drama, no controversy, players who are over themselves, etc..' turns out it was pop who isnt over himself.

A lot of people knock Pop in here, but there really isn't a better coach in pro sports.

    So, umm, no.

Spurs fans are spoiled rotten. You really don't know how good you have it with Pop as the coach. He's the best in the business. The other 29 teams would take him in a heartbeat.

When I joined the forum in 2011 following the round 1 loss to the Grizzlies, there were a lot of anti-Pop sentiments pervading the community. (The term "Popsucker" was commonly used.) I didn't agree with it at the time, and rightfully so. Pop actually became a better coach, and the Spurs had an unexpected revival.

This time, however, I find the anti-Pop sentiment much more justified. Maybe it really is time for him to hang up the coach's blazer and call it a career.

Yes, and maybe coach Bud could get free from Atlanta and come back and do some real teaching.

Pringles never had Duncan or Kawhi to hide his crater face from being exposed.
