I think of all FA the Spurs have this summer they are the most interesting, not just due to age and size but they rarely found themselves with real rotation minutes outside this season and performed well enough when called to do so. The market is really bland but should still get interest from other teams and can’t assume they will be back. Like Boban, JSimms, Marco, CoJo, Baynes, and Dedmon, Spurs get these guys on the cheap but when it’s time to pay up they move on.

So time to pour one for the homies. I enjoyed watching them. Will always have that alley oop that made assist of the year

As far as Cancerson, I hope he's out of the league in a couple years, tbh... his game is so cringe-worthy, it sucks to watch no matter the team...

That said, it's not his fault he's a limited player and that PATFO stuck with him this long...

tbh, I had to put up with Bonner for many years, even when he was actually taking minutes from Splitter...

That's the thing with Kyle and the PATFO fascination... this situation can actually get worse. This scrub could be taking minutes away from solid prospects in the future.

I would definitely give Davis another chance at a very cheap deal, but not much more than that. Man, I did a complete 180 on Kyle in this series. In Game 5, he showed a bit down the stretch, but honestly the rest of the series he was so damn lost and scared. I could accept that easily from a rookie or 2nd year player, but Kyle Anderson is way too old and experienced to have looked like that. That mindset isn't something you develop at this point in his career. I think the Spurs should just walk away from him.

I would appreciate Kyle more if he was stashed away on the bench of a different team. Wouldn’t mind seeing Bertans get another go though. He’s like a less ty Bonner.

If you get Lebron, you keep Bertans and let Kyle walk. Most likely, Spurs upgrade their sg position and Kyle/Gay starts at pf.

And we don't expect anything less but your adoration for a terrible player.
Grey out of here with your Anderson love. He is bad player that is afraid to try and score.

It's time to move on from Kyle probably, unless he wants to stay for cheap. His defense was good but not good enough to warrant keeping his horrendous offense on the floor given this team's offensive shortcomings. There were too many times in games where he just simply was a straight up liability, by either not taking a shot, not making someone guard him thereby allowing LA to get doubled, or missing badly enough that it created fast break points the other way. His defensive position flexibility simply isn't worth the offensive inep ude.

I’d expect Kyle to get around $8M-$10M and the Spurs will be willing to match any offer around that range. Anything more than that is an overpay. The front office has leverage to give him a cheaper deal since Leonard is still under contract and they can take a wing with the draft pick. He was solid but not spectacular during the regular season and we all honestly expected a bit more from this guy, even if he’s the last pick of the first round of his draft or even if he wasn’t pegged to fill a scoring role since people saw him as Diaw’s replacement, a role which needed facilitating more than scoring. He’s still best suited for a bench role and definitely not a guy you’d start against Golden State or Houston. Unique skill set will interest a handful of teams, though he won’t have a lot of suitors since he’s a tweener who’s only effective in specific five-man combinations. Also shot poorly this year which hurts his value.

Davis is good as gone since shooters are always in demand. He’s probably this year’s token white big the Pistons will be stealing from the Spurs, although they already have Ellenson. I agree with some posters that Davis makes drafting Dzanan Musa redundant, but Musa’s advantages are a scorer’s mentality and a killer instinct. Unless Pop extremely likes Musa it’s most likely Pop keeps Davis over a rook. Will probably go from $5M to $10M depending on how much a team values shooting, but he won’t be picked up right off the bat. Has a bigger market than Kyle Anderson because of his skill set.

As an aside I think we all agree the Spurs need faster three and D wings with healthy pairs of legs.

If Anderson developed a jumper over the years and didn’t pass up every open 3 i would want him back.

I would give Bertans another shot

I have similar thoughts. Especially cause last year he seemed to make some stuff happen in the WCF. It was frustrating to watch, against a weaker GS team. The one thing I'll give him is he had a much bigger role this year than was planned for, and overall he did a commendable job trying to fill that role. But the playoffs were definitely a disappointment

In this league you need shooters or you need to be a lock down rebounding defender Anderson is neither and not just hating on Anderson you can add Green and Forbes to that list.

Thought Kyle acquitted himself quite fine. He didn't play well in the first two games but then again, outside garbage time, he played only 5-6 minutes stints. Bryn Forbes and Davis Bertans played big minutes both games, blowout losses btw, and for the record accompanied by paltry shooting. Davis ended up playing more minutes overall than Kyle did.

Kyle played much better the last 3 games. He's an oddball but is a legit NBA player and likely will be gone IMO. Spurs need to look for scoring talent, and he's not it.
Davis is easier to fit in, but also a flight risk, as he's going to want to get paid just as well and he has his flaws.

So cheers to both guys. Thanks for the season you gave us, of which Kiwi played only 200 minutes.

I'd like to see Kyle go elsewhere for both the Spurs and his sake..he's an awkward fit with this team, they need a more conventional player at his position..he would benefit from going to a different team where he could utilize his skills more..

His defense is top-tier, but his lack of shot and resistance to even attempt one makes him a useless off-ball player..

Hope we don't lose SAGirl if he leaves, though..this place wouldn't be the same without her, tbh..

I like both these guys but they did disappoint this season. Kyle needs to shoot and needs to develop a better shot. Davis, I don't know, I am too lazy to dig out his shooting % this season but man he hit a lot of iron heaving up threes this year.

I reeaalllyyy want Mills and Forbes gone. I was rooting for Forbes but he's a poor mans Patty. How many undersized shooting guards can a roster hold?
