    Trump to Comey:

Can we make this peeing match go away before Melania sees it!

Lets use Comey to keep our family situation in order, that’ll work.
We wonder why our idiot president can’t keep people or ends up firing them...

I don't believe any of those people were federal judges and I don't think he was on trial.

In front of congress, no oath is required to be found guilty of lying and sentenced to a maximum of 5 years.

Glad you asked. If you are testifying in front of Congress sometime soon, and are wondering how far you can bend the truth, there are a two key statutes governing perjury you need to be aware of: U.S. Code sections 1621 and 1001 of le 18.
Section 1621 covers general perjury, and stipulates that anyone who "willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes any material matter which he does not believe to be true" is guilty of perjury and shall be fined or imprisoned up to five years, or both. Section 1001 covers false statements more generally, without requiring an oath. The section stipulates that "whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the government of the United States, knowingly and willfully" falsifies or conceals information, including before a congressional committee's inquiry, may also be fined or imprisoned up to five years.

    Also from cnn:

But even if the men don't raise their right hand before speaking, they still have to tell the truth.

Federal law makes it a crime to "knowingly and willfully" give "materially" false statements to Congress, even if unsworn -- which is not to be confused with the more general crime of perjury for lying under oath.

Remember when the left hated the Patriot Act? Back when Bush was in office. Now they love people like this who embrace the Patriot Act and act with no scruples.
