    Whoopsies...

    ----------------------------------------------------------
Powerful billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch are funding a multi-million dollar campaign against Trump’s trade tariffs.

Three political groups backed by the brothers say they will use advertising, lobbying and grassroots campaigns to push the benefits of free trade.

The duo run Koch Industries, one of the world's largest privately owned firms.

The move comes just days after Mr Trump imposed tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from the EU, Canada and Mexico.

The three Koch-backed groups launching the campaign against Mr Trump's tariffs: Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, Americans for Prosperity and the LIBRE Initiative, are urging the president to lift the recent tariffs on aluminium and steel imports as well as the proposed tariffs on other imports from China.

Americans for Prosperity president Tim Phillips said the tariffs would "hamstring our full economic potential".

"There are better ways to negotiate trade deals than by punishing American consumers and businesses with higher costs," he added.

The campaign indicates the level of concern among business groups, typically Republican supporters, about the impact of the tariffs.

Their Frankenstein monster has turned on them, and now they get their "oh , what have we done" moment. HAHAHAHAHA

    eh, we'll see.

a lot of people who voted for DJT may not care about the free market as much as you think. consider the prevalence of right wing anti-globalism since 2016.

tariffs are easier to do than trade deals (indeed, it appears DJT can lay any tariff he wants) and they reinforce DJT's nationalist appeal.

    "you think"

I don't think much of Crooked Donny's supporters. I know they are falling into a cult of personality where any professed commitment to "principles" of any sort come in a distant second to ass-kissing the Dear Leader.

It is sad to watch, but I am done having any respect for the right at this point. They have collectively sold their souls for power. The only thing this presidential term is going to do is finish off any claim the right has to either moral authority, or intellectual weight. The rot has gone too far.

This feeling of being disregarded and left out under this President? Lots felt like that under the previous and is the reason, along with the DNC fraud, that we are here today. Just like the markets, swing too far one way, you'll over correct the other. With your at ude, assuming that on a wider scope of voters, I see no indication that we won't continue that route in the future.

Bull . Lot's felt like that because of a propaganda machine telling them they were somehow victims, and this whiney bull found a ready audience of ty reasoners and mouthbreathing email forwarders.

Democrats are pissed, and if you felt left out under milquetoast Obama, the lefts reaction to Trump will probably be to go further left. over. broken. glass.

That one of the biggest failures of the right: the need to claim victimhood.

You ers would be so much better off without it.

Lol. Like that's a right versus left virtue. That's the age we live in. The left NEVER claim victim hood. Hahahaha

    (nods)

Agree with you there, the left does it too, much more than they should. It's ty from both sides.

Again, though, beware of false equivalences. Both sides are not equal, and the right's propaganda revels in victimhood.

The part though that is most damning is that they use that victim myth for all sorts of propaganda stunts. Project veritas, and all the provocative invites to college campuses are done SOLELY for an excuse to bait the left for propaganda purposes.

Dishonest to the core. As I said, the right has no moral authority, even when claiming victimhood. There is a whole underground cottage industry that you are almost certainly unaware of. Youtube is rife with cookiecutter apologists for Nazis as victims. It's bizarre.

The false equivalence force field makes me giggle. As if this somehow negates similarity.

It's a question of scale, not nature.

The the oligarchy/Repugs/right wing hate media do is the ONLY they do, 100% corrupt bad faith

The Dem establishment is just as corrupted by $$$ as the Repugs , but no one can say (honestly) that Hillary would have installed a Pruitt, a Zinke, a Mulvaney, a Ross, a Tillserson, a Carson, a Devos to destroy govt and over Americans, America.

Take a toke, or Tylenol, the pain will pass.

But, corrupt as all Dem establishment is, she would have signed the oligarchy's self-enriching tax cut.

Steve Bannon To Charles Koch: ‘Shut Up And Get With The Program’

“Here’s the program ... Victory on Nov. 6.”

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon slammed libertarian megadonor Charles Koch and leaders of his political network in a scathing interview with Politico,

telling the billionaire to “shut up and get with the program.”

    Bannon lashed out Sunday after

Koch Network representatives sharply criticized President Donald Trump and his supporters for creating a toxic division in America and for destructive “protectionist” trade policies.

“What they have to do is shut up and get with the program,” Bannon told the publication.

“Here’s the program: Ground game to support Trump’s presidency and program, [and] victory on Nov. 6.”

Bannon said the Koch Network — which didn’t support Trump in the presidential election — doesn’t know how to win.

And he argued that voters aren’t interested in the group’s free trade philosophy, and support Trump’s economic “populism” instead.

    "economic populism"?
