Donald Trump has grown frustrated with Theresa May’s “school mistress” tone, allies of the president have told The Telegraph, as it emerged the pair will not hold formal talks at the G7 summit in Canada.
The US president is said to bristle at the Prime Minister’s approach during phone calls, with Mrs May quick to get into policy details rather than wider conversation.
One senior US diplomat said Mr Trump had expressed annoyance at Mrs May’s frequent demands, which are seen as taking advantage of the UK-US relationship.
Another long-time friend of the president revealed he had privately complained of how Mrs May calls him out in public when he is deemed to have stepped out of line.
Sharia May not too popular with the Brits these days.

Saying that they were “tremendously relieved” that Donald J. Trump is leaving the G-7 summit early,
the leaders of France and Canada said on Friday that they had been planning not to tell Trump the location of the G-7 after party.
Speaking to reporters, Emmanuel Macron and Justin Trudeau said that
there had been “total consensus” among non-U.S. participants to withhold information about the time, place, and existence of an after party from Trump.
“The plan was, if Trump asked about an after party, we were going to be, like, ‘Ask Angela Merkel,’ ” Macron said.
“Angela was going to totally stonewall him.”
Merkel confirmed that she had planned to tell Trump that she “didn’t think anyone was planning to do anything” after the summit and steadfastly to deny “hearing anything” about an after party.
“I would have had no problem lying to him, despite our two countries going way back, to D-Day or whenever,”
Merkel said, rolling her eyes.
Trudeau said that the after party will proceed as scheduled when the G-7 concludes, on Saturday, adding,
“Now that Trump is out of here, we’ll really have something to celebrate.”

So yes, when President Trump confronts the failures of the “rules-based international order” directly, after decades of pusillanimous acquiescence by his predecessors, you could describe that as “unprecedented.”
But doing things that are “unprecedented” is the very definition of Donald Trump’s mandate. That’s what he was elected to do. To shake things up. To change things. When you do something new, it is unprecedented. That’s literally what it means.
And yet the elites throw around that word “unprecedented” as a criticism. Nothing could be more revealing of their true beliefs: they actually loved the old order because they and their rich friends benefited from it. How disgraceful that they howl in protest when President Trump finally puts working people first.

BERLIN — It was an image that, in its Rockwellian presentation and characters, seemed to capture an emerging era.
European leaders stood arrayed on one side of a narrow conference room table, leaning in. On the other side:
President Trump, seated alone, his arms folded.
The photo, released Saturday on German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Instagram account and later tweeted by Trump national security advisor John Bolton, fast became a Rorschach test for an increasingly troubled relationship.
Trump was clearly isolated. But was he making an overdue stand against an expiring global order? Or was he just the odd man out in the world’s most powerful club?

-- directly contradicted an announcement by Trudeau minutes earlier in which he declared that all seven member-states had signed the joint statement.
In that announcement, Trudeau had said the summit was “very successful,”
but he also said Canada would retaliate against metals tariffs that had been aimed at allies.
