Well, it’s finally here. Draft is tomorrow night at 7/ET. Might be trading our franchise player, nbd. Either way, should be a fun draft with lots of movement. Let’s see how it shakes out.

What we get depends on the dialogue today. If we get Athletic Defensive Wing, Kawhi is gone. Shooter, Kawhi stays. Or do we trade up to get a replacement franchise player? Ayton or Bagley? But this batch is pretty deep. I feel we can get quality players from both rounds

Clippers trade package is garbage, Lakers is better, tbh.

Yea, but as I stated in another thread, PATFO might actually be petty enough to take a lesser deal than to give the Lakers what they want, essentially signing off on LA creating another Superteam in their conference. Really don’t think think they’re going to trade him to the Lakers regardless of the offer. If he wants to go next Summer, then so be it. But don’t help them out, especially with the lowball offer they’re likely going to get anyways.

The more I think about it, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Spurs already have an offer they like, and the trip to SD by Pop was just to talk to Kawhi face-to-face and to make sure one final time that this is what HE wants. If the answer was yes, I think Kawhi will be traded on draft night.

Harris would be a really interesting and good fit next to LMA, IMHO.
    Throw in 12+13+next year's 1st and it's a deal.

Predict your top 3 choices of who the Spurs are going to draft at 18:

    1. Troy Brown
    2. Kevin Huerter
    3. Dzanan Musa

    Throw in 12+13+next year's 1st and it's a deal.
    2 things:

1.) Harris is intriguing, but he’s an UFA next Summer trading Kawhi for a guy who could just walk after one year for nothing isn’t ideal.

2.) In this hypothetical deal, Clippers couldn’t trade next year’s pick because you can’t trade 1st Round picks in consecutive years (Stepian Rule). So it’d have to be a 2020 1st-Round Pick at the earliest, which the Clippers likely wouldn’t do, seeing as how Kawhi could just walk away next Summer for nothing and the Clippers would likely be right back in the lottery, where that pick would be extremely valuable.

They could, however, swap picks with the Spurs in 2019 if they wanted to, which would make way more sense in this scenario.

Saw a mock draft on nbatv, last night, they said Huerter has a dash of Kay Thompson in him...Not the first time I hear him compared to Thompson

There will be other live broadcasts competing with ESPN broadcast if you're not in the mood for ESPN's crap.

The Stepien will have a live broadcast.

I don't remember who else. Maybe Duncd On or The Ringer or SI or Yahoo will do it again as well. But I remember there being another beside the Stepien.

Probably don’t expect spoilers. Heard that ESPN, Yahoo and others pledged not to spoil draft picks before they’re officially announced.

    My hopes in order:

    1. Zhaire
    2. Huerter
    3. Robert Williams
    4. Mitc Robinson

I've flipped a few times between Zhaire and Huerter, I would be happy with either. I'm not so high on Mitc R anymore, but I don't want any undersized guards or slow non-shooting SFs anymore. I'd rather take the risk with a weirdo high schooler.

I would be disappointed with any undersized guards. Or guys with reputations for being the worst defender in the draft like Jerome Robinson, guy's just another Bryn. Don't want Troy Brown either, or Keita Slow-Diop.

I feel the same about Smith and Huerter. I go back and forth between those two. I'd be very happy with either.

It mentions Clippers could look at moving to 4, so maybe there could be a 3 team deal sending Kawhi to the Clippers and getting a combo of players + high draft picks back.

Do you think Pop could have already mentioned a package they were considering outside of LA, and his group then leaked out that he only wants to commit to LA after? I probably doubt they would ever discuss what they had on the table with him though.
