I know this seems like an obvious question at the moment given the recent events...but fans tend to have a pretty short memory.
On one hand, Kawhi spent had 5 good years in San Antonio and was a key part of the beautiful 2014 le run.
On the other hand, he pretty much ed out of San Antonio and altered the landscape of the franchise for the foreseeable future.
Obviously, there is some well-deserved vitriol being directed at Kawhi right now. But, the NBA schedule is still a ways off from being released, and we have no idea how long it will be until he will actually have to show his face in front of a San Antonio crowd.
Will the Spurs take their typical "classy" approach and put up a Thank You Kawhi tribute on his return to try to calm the crowd? Will people even care if they do?
Or will he be boo'd every time he touches the ball like he deserves to be imo?

They should. He's the one who said he wasn't going to play there any more, basically 2 years before becoming a free agent.

They wouldn't if he left honorably. But the way he forced his way out and drove down his value, he should be booed. I get not wanting to be here, but the team paid you like a hundred million to play here. He could have gotten to LA if he would have allowed Spurs to bargain without him overplaying his cards on getting out and only to LA.

This is personally what I am hoping for. Kawhi deserves to be tarred and feathered and run out of San Antonio tbh. A few boos would be letting him off easy.
The only reason I ask is that I still the expect the Spurs to play the gracious card...and your typical, AT&T-going fan is probably far less venomous than most of us around here.
