Read this one yesterday.. They tried to make the article draw sympathy for Joey.. Anger is not exactly a disease. What disease offers treatment in the form of advice to put your hands behind your back when you feel an episode coming on and tell yourself "you're a good ref"?

Anger could totally be a symptom of some mental disease. What isn't revealed is what might caused these symptoms. You don't know everyone's history and how they will react to traumatized memories or just something weird they were born with in their brains. Being able to openly talk about more or go to a psychiatrist, psychologist, or seek spiritual advise in the form of a pastor at a church are all valid options. Better than seeing those commercials about prescription drugs for sure. Inside we are all a little messed up. Some of us are fortunate to have the support group or stable upbringing to handle our emotions.

He’s talked about before on a great podcast with WOJ. If you want an interesting take on the pressure of being an NBA referee, it is worth your time. I liked Joey as a referee even though he did screw the Spurs in that game by ejecting Duncan.

Just for show. Crawford was Stern's #1 hitman. When a series was 2-0, Crawford was the guy brought in to extend it 90% of the time.

Not if the game is the Lakers. Crawford did what he was supposed to do; he just forgot to put a good face on it.

He must've reffed the 08 WCF, then.

these are facts. If crawford was reffing a game 3 and a team were down 0-2, the outcome was very predictable.

I apparently mis-remembered earlier in regards to the 08 WCF. I just remember one game if not series that the Spurs were wresting control (in LA). They were hitting on all cylinders and were up 20, and then all the sudden starting in the 3rd Q, the Lakers were allowed to play football out there. Not a damn thing was being called. Honestly, it was as blatant as 02 WCF Gm 6 in some ways.

crawford also officiated game 6 2012. but spurstalk seem to forget that . He also officiated game 7 of the 2010 finals and we saw what happened in the 4th quarter.

Crawford officiated three games of 2010 Finals. Game 1 (LAL win) Game 5 (Bos win) Game 7 (LAL win).

Stern probably would've used Crawford in Game 4 if LAL had been down 1-2 instead of up 2-1. He then used him in Gm 5 in hopes of delivering a victory. But yea, he had both Crawfords (Joey and Dan) and Scott Foster ready to go for Game 7. The NBA reffing system is highly scandalous. Refs make more money for a handful of playoff games than they do all season. The incentive to produce results is obvious. Americans are ing morons though. You think the fans would put up with this in the Euro soccer leagues for instance?

He also reffed game 4 of Spurs vs Lakers in '08. The game where Fisher fouled Barry but there was a no call. I will never forget that smug bas 's smile after he made that no call when Duncan was trying to get him to call the foul. He reffed game 6 of Spurs vs Heat in 2013. If you watch the game you will see before Ray took that dagger 3 he stepped out of bounce. He got his revenge more than once against the Spurs. The league always found ways to use him against the Spurs in the playoffs after the Duncan incident.

dude had an ego and started ing up on the job. He felt sad about losing his temper on and off the court? Who cares, plenty more people to feel bad for. Joey isn't one of them.
