With Manu and KA gone, rank the top three passers/ playmakers on the team.

I have not really watched DD play but supposedly he has improved his passing and I can't really think of anyone that stands out other than White.

    1. White
    2. Murray
    3. Derozan

When you look at White and realize how much this team needs good passing, it is hard to think that he won't get significant minutes. Grant it he has done most of his work in the D-league and summer, but he still looks better than anyone else on the current roster.

    Gasol
    Derozan
    White
That’s probably a good current snapshot, without projecting any decline and/or realization of potential.

Gasol is top 3 for sure, probably second to DDR due to volume.

Btw, love watching the Gasol-LMA high-low action

Looking like a 35-40 win team. Worst spot to be in...back end of the lottery.

so you think they'll be potentially 12 games worse than last year despite getting a much needed offensive threat in DeRozan? Not to mention the potential/development of Murray/White/Murray.

White and Murray lol. We haven't even seen one of those guys play real NBA minutes and the other one did a lot of things right, running the offense wasn't one of them. Looks like LMA passing out of a double team at times.

This. One of the best reasons to keep Pau in the starting lineup. He makes LMA better.

While true, you can typically tell what guys are NBA ready. Running the offense/decision making comes with repe ion and lots of it. Murray should improve on that end, and DeRozan can handle some of that too.

He and Parker would generate some easy looks for LMA. I'm hoping Murray/DeRozan or whoever can develop that chemistry with him

Yeah I'm thinking Murray will def step up too. Last season was funny when he and TP switched out, trading ability for BBIQ

DD is coming off of a very improved season iirc, hopefully he doesn't have that first year adjustment period like most players do coming to SA, but I assume he will

I don't know about better, but they have good chemistry. Aldridge is a behemoth and with Gasol out of the paint, he can seal his man and Pau can toss it to him deep down low, or when fronted, he can toss it over LMAs defender and Aldridge can catch it underneath the rim and get an easy basket out of it.

It reminds me of Diaw and Duncan, Diaws passing helped get Duncan a bunch of easy baskets.

Parker had good chemistry with LMA, as did Manu. Hopefully Pop learns from his mistakes with the Kawhi -Aldridge pairing and actually have DDR and LMA develop a two-man game by having Aldridge set screens for DeRozen, as opposed to having him hang out in the corner.
Mills and Aldridge also have an underrated chemistry together, with Mills getting Aldridge some easy P&Ps

50-55 wins, if everything breaks right- including Curry's foot.

Ah yea, Patty definitely does. And I think DDR will definitely be utilized in that role. He's much more comfortable in those scenarios than Kawhi was imo...

While I agree Gasol is a good passer, he's not necessarily going to do much to set up other players (play maker). White may not have much experience, but I really feel like he has the best court vision of what is left on this team and can do things to set up shooters and big men.

Looks like this team could be a complete disaster or Murray and White surprise on the upside.

The two guy on the team who are left overs from the 2014 beautiful game (Mills and Belinelli) aren't play makers.

Yes, I do. DeRozan will be in a new system. LMA will be one year older. And we will rely heavily on rookies and 1 and 2nd year players that don't know how to win in this league as of yet. Having a gritty veteran like Manu made a big difference in closing out games. It was sad that he was required many times last year. Losing him is a big deal, even though he hardly played, because when he did play, it was the last 3-5 minutes of the game where he consistently made big plays as a creator or scorer.

I don't think it's as easy as plug in the new player and good to go. Especially not in an ultra compe ive and talented western conference.

I agree, there will be moments no doubt where he will be missed.

I think that while we'll have a slippage defensively, but offensively we'll be much improved.. Enough in fact where it should generate more W's than last year. So while we may very well lose some close contests where Manu would've come through, I think we'll be able to have more wins by comfortable amounts than last season. I feel like I can count on one hand the amount of those we had cause damn near every game was a struggle offensively. We lost too many games simply because we couldn't get buckets consistently.

Considering some of the players on the team haven't gotten any real minutes I will go with
    Derozan
    Gasol
    Bertans

I was gonna bet a couple benjamins on the over 43.5 before Manu retired; now, I may bet some chump change on the under. Dunno.

DeMar and Pau are 1 and 2 respectively but it's unclear to me who is the third? Maybe Patty? Murray definitely has the potential but he needs to limit his turnovers.
