You definitely felt the absence of the hot red heads in the arena. Oh and silver dancers too.

I watched a stream that showed the halftime show and stuff like that. The hype team looked terrible, just a bunch of people in all black long pants and shirts. They cluttered the floor trying to look like cheerleaders somehow making me dizzy and angry at the same time, the silver dancers will be missed. Its sad the PC world we live in today, makes me want to puke.

The new announcer did fine as far as I was concerned. When he delivered "Spurs baaaalllll" it had some oomph. Maybe not as much as Jonathan Sanford, but alright. Also he didn't, so far, mimic the "tttwwwwoooo ssshhhoooottttss" bit that had turned into a thing the last couple of seasons. For those that can't make games in person, there has been this ongoing thing where the audience was mimicking Sanford's over the top 'two shots' when someone on our team went to the line. Some people rolled their eyes at it, but it was in good fun. Now the Silver Dancers not being there was a bit strange. There wasn't much dancing to speak of, the spirit team threw a few t-shirts, but didn't do their normal routines. Maybe because it was pre-season.

I personally liked the atmosphere just fine, but it was a very different feel from the last game I attended which was the playoffs of course. What I remembered most from that was the fans from Argentina who were sitting near me going crazy at every move Manu made which was quite a good show if you remember Game 4 against GSW. Manu not being there was much more noticeable than anything else needless to say. Can't wait for his retirement night. That will be something.

Sanford sucked ass since day 1 and made 5 a little watery IMO, along with TD not retiring that night like Drob did in '03, but it is what it is. Eso si que es. Meh.

My childhood heart still loves and yearns for Stan Kelly. Next time I share a stadium with him this Thanksgiving, I'll be rooting against his team, unfortunately, but Kelly made my childhood Spurs experience greater than it already was. His Spurs ball. SPUURRRRRS BALL! was the GOAT. Also... Tim Duncan. TIIIIM DUNCAN! Manuuuuuuu! And the Spurs take the lead! Spurs take the lead! A little help?! Deeeeeeeeeeefense! GO SPURS GO!! Kelly was the GOAT, don't know why he quit after 2008, I guess he just didn't like the direction of the team at that point and I don't blame him. Wish he would have stuck around for 5.

But his replacement Kev Brock was solid. Everyone else since has been absolute DOG .

Stan Kelly 9/10, probably down to 7.5/10 in 2008

    Kev Brock in 2009... 6/10

The guy who replaced Brock for most of 08-09... 3/10

Kev Brock from 2010-2012... solid 7/10

The boring guy in 2013... 2/10

Sanford... 3.5/10... the whiny threeeeeeeeeee and the two shots crap had to be among the worst combos in sports

Don't know/don't care about the new guy, doubt I'll be watching many Spurs games this year, don't really care for any of the players left tbh nor the senile newly leftist head coach
